Why? The Aus selectors dont abide by those rules so neither should we.

Maher is a better opener than Hussey yet hasnt got a look in.

Lewis has a central contract yet Clarke is called up to the test team.

Hodge isnt one of the 10 best batsmen in Aus yet seems to be rewarded for long service to Vics.

Bevan, Lehmann and Kaspa have all been amongst the 11 best players in Aus for the better part of 10 years yet not picked at appropriate times.

Rather than attempting to follow whatever logic the national selectors use, on here we'd be better off doing what's right.

All great points. The selectors will be going for youth, so unless those guys have absolute stormer seasons then they are no chance, even if they do it doesn't gaurantee selection.

Players on about par with him would include Greg Blewett and Matthew Elliott as well. Hes very lucky to be in the squad.

ooooo ur write didn't really think about that but it would be wrong to say he's lucky to be in the squad at present, blokes like Bevan, Lehmann, Blewett, Elliot have played & have been dropped while Love was a bit unlucky to be dropped but since then Hodge has scored a lot of runs in CC & Pura Cup & deserves to be in the Australian sqaud at present...

I reckon that`d be up there with the most competitive ODI sides in the world. And a very competitive Test-side.

You can't have much better season's that Bevan's. 1464 runs in 9 matches at 97.6 is pretty damn good.

If he had of had a season like that the year after he was dropped he would have been back in the side, but not now.
