Does anyone remember the Richard Gabriel incident?

A bit of a topical question. In the early 80's we saw very little overseas cricket in England, but we did see a few brief highlights of a One-Day series between Australia and the West Indies in 1983/84. The West Indies had a one-day specialist batsman named Richard Gabriel who was not a great fielder. I'm positive I remember Viv Richards actually ordering him from the field after letting an easy stop on the boundary go through his legs. Kim Hughes was Australian captain and gave an arms outstretched gester to the umpires. I've never seen it mentioned since so I wonder if anyone else remembers it.
