Which English team do you believe was the greatest of all time?
Which English team do you believe was the greatest of all time?
The 1902 English side.
You know it makes sense.
Probably one of the English teams from the 50s, when they had the likes of Bedser, Trueman, Statham, Tyson, Laker, Lock and Wardle with the ball, and Hutton, Edrich, May, Compton and Graveney with the bat. Obviously not all these players played together in the same team, but there were some great England teams in that period.
I know a place where a royal flush
Can never beat a pair
I think the best english side has been the ones from the late 50s to the late 60s.
The strongest side England could have ever put out was probably one of these four teams...

Extremely premature to put the current England side there. There's nothing even remotely proven about that batting lineup, and while the bowling is good it's certainly not significantly better than an attack with say Hendrick, a young Botham, Willis, Snow and Underwood, for example.
Throw in John Lever and Chris Old from that era - superb strength in the bowling department.Originally Posted by FaaipDeOiad
