Inzi not good enough for Gavaskars XI?

So in that case, why not bring in someone from 15 years ago then?

Form and recent record should be the only choice when picking a side, especially when form has run so long.

umm no.

What matters is who the selectors will perform best the task at hand. Form and recent record are indicators for that but it may not always hold true. A player can keep scoring runs but will not be chosen if the selectors feel some one else is likely to perform better for te task at hand.

So they have gone for Tendulkar and thankfully not measured to your criteria.

Yes, they've gone for the name rather than the current ability - but since we've seen several other "wtf?" selections, one more isn't going to be too much of a shock.

The person selected by any selection committee is not based on only current form but what the person is likely to do in the specific match.

This likeliness is judgemental and differs from person to person. It is not based on name or other conspiracy theories you may come up with to discount a selection as wtf.

If you believe Inzamam or Chanderpaul is likely to perform well you will back him. If some one else believes Tendulkar is likely to perform well, that particular person will back that player.

What is alarming is that you cannot respect an opinion tangent to yours.
