Just saw that on the news, I reckon its a good call.

Apparently he turned up after a county season 4 kilos over what he was when he left? Thats not good enough.

Cosgrove only 4 kilos over?!!

The SACA were obviously quite generous before his UK sojourn....

Rumour is that Kevin Pieterson will be playing in the NSW grade competition after Christmas for University of Sydney. Anyone know what club Thorpe will be playing at? Might be a connection there.

Klinger has probably bought himself a few games with runs today at the Junction Oval, plus that screamer off Lara. Ditto Harwood - he's gone from 'last minute contract' to 'second behind Lewis' again. With McDonald out, and Harvey gone, it's a chance for Victoria to establish a slightly more traditional outfit, that isn't overdone with all-rounders like they have been in the past, with Moss just playing as a batsman and White the only real all-rounder.

Philipson will be unlucky not to play the first few games after a double ton in a 2nd XI match vs Victoria in the 4th innings, to help QLD chase 420+ to win.

Anyone, especially from NSW, the situation of Murray Creed? Does he count as an overseas player?

I don't know about that... :p
Well, it shouldn't happen given the batting lineup now...Lehmann back full time, the poaching of Matthew Elliot from Victoria, Blewett...should be more solid now....but that was supposed to happen with Andy Flower last season as well!

With Tait out now for 3 months though, the bowling lineup will be depleted. Rofe, Cleary and a Gillespie trying to find his rythym? Cullen better have another good year!

Just hoping not to finish bottom of the Pura Cup ladder.........

You'll be fine in the bowling department. You've got MacKenzie there. He didn't really get to have a consistent run with Queensland but he is a quality bowler and if SACA are serious about winning anything this year they will play him in their side from day one.

Thats a mighty big IF there..........you can never rely on cricket boards to make the RIGHT decision, after all...

Look at the national selectors!

Yeah, that's right. I guess they aren't serious about winning anything this year. I don't know who's bright idea it was to buy deadwood known as Elliot was.

They need decent batsmen desperately IMO

I'd say that Elliott is actually worth a fair bit of value as a specialist batting coach, though. And with the youth coming through that SA has, it's not the silliest acquisition. It's better than getting another Darren Dempsey/Jack Smith/Mark Higgs type, who can't get a game where they're playing so they head somewhere else.

Why anyone would want Elliot coaching them how to bat is beyond me....

I was thinking that, but Orthdox said his was a nine letter word, and Kyle never actually changed that peice of the "puzzle" so I assume his has nine letters also.
