How much longer will Hartley stay without getting a game?

We should still be a force, but I worry about losing more of our good young players to other states.

Maher and Love are still only just turned 30, so I can see them continuing for a few more years. If Hayden is dropped from the test side he will play for a year or two. Bichel will play until he dies on the field. Secombe will have his performances monitored more closely. Kaspa is still a chance of getting back to the Aussie side so he'll play for another 2 seasons probably. Dawes may be the unfortunate one, but he's been our most consistent bowler of the past half decade.

If Watson is in the Aussie side full time I'd imagine Qld playing this side:

Hayden, Maher, Love, Symonds, Phillipson, Hopes, Secombe, Bichel, Johnson, Kasprowicz, Dawes.

When the test side is away Perren will come in for Hayden at least at the start of the season (unless Hayden is dropped).

With Symonds and Hopes away during the ODIs I'd imagine this side:

Hayden, Maher, Love, Perren, Phillipson, Secombe, Bichel, Hauritz, Johons, Kasprowicz, Dawes.

Maybe Hauritz to be replaced by a batsman, but he's improved his batting and Bichel is handy also, so I wouldn't be too surprised if that was a possible line-up.

Good news for Queensland.

Wade Seccombe has retired, to make way for Chris Hartley.

Seccombe's batting was horribly in decline last summer.

He's retired?!
He was an excellent keeper, but it annoyed me how they kept putting him in Australian A sides when you knew they were never going to put him in the International squad. I see him kind of like Stuart MacGill, if he had been born in a different era, he couldve been great.

Wade Seccombe was quite possibly the best keeper in the world and it's sad that he'll end his career by dropping the Pura Cup.

I think it's good for Queensland though as Chris Hartley is a very good cricket and will be in the team for a long time.

With a fully available squad:
Hayden
Maher
Love
Watson
Symonds
Hopes
Hartley
Bichel
Johnson
Kasprowicz
Dawes
--------------
Philipson
Hauritz
Perren
Noffke
Nye
Simpson
Carseldine (returning from injury after 2 years?)

There should be a rule that Phillipson plays every game for Qld (depending on form) no matter what players are available for Qld. He is a huge talent of the future. I don't think Qld will see much of Watson this season, he will either be playing for Australia or 12th man.

Fatty Cosgrove has been suspended

http://foxsports.news.com.au/story/0...-23210,00.html

It was also reported that the SACA has posted a mug shot of "Cossie" to all McDonalds outlets in inner-Adelaide.

Just saw that on the news, I reckon its a good call.

Apparently he turned up after a county season 4 kilos over what he was when he left? Thats not good enough.

Cosgrove only 4 kilos over?!!

The SACA were obviously quite generous before his UK sojourn....

Rumour is that Kevin Pieterson will be playing in the NSW grade competition after Christmas for University of Sydney. Anyone know what club Thorpe will be playing at? Might be a connection there.

Klinger has probably bought himself a few games with runs today at the Junction Oval, plus that screamer off Lara. Ditto Harwood - he's gone from 'last minute contract' to 'second behind Lewis' again. With McDonald out, and Harvey gone, it's a chance for Victoria to establish a slightly more traditional outfit, that isn't overdone with all-rounders like they have been in the past, with Moss just playing as a batsman and White the only real all-rounder.

Philipson will be unlucky not to play the first few games after a double ton in a 2nd XI match vs Victoria in the 4th innings, to help QLD chase 420+ to win.

Anyone, especially from NSW, the situation of Murray Creed? Does he count as an overseas player?
