I have seen very little of Vettori and I don't rate his bowling much, but he certainly has the potential to become more than handy with the bat.

Congratulations to Vettori, certainly the best spinner to play cricket for New Zealand.

A nice milestone for a decent spinner.

man have u seen the green tops that newzealand curators come up with sometimes what about that home seris against india vettori hardly bowled an over man if you ask me vettori is the best left arm orthodox spin bowler in the world today a wonderfully talented batsman who could bat as high as 6 or 7 if he liked hes been puttin scotty styris to shame of late. When you compare his bowling to nicky boje ashley giles mohammad rafique enamal haque jnr. he is the best his veteran test record backs that up,,, who said giles was decent he is not ahhahahahahahaha, that ball to lara was lucky spun out of teh rough apart from that he hasnt done much with bat or ball.

I dont think Vettori is better than Rafique to be honest.
Even on helpful pitches, he's done barely anything.

300? I would think if he stays 100% fit he should go well past 400, even 500 wouldn't be of the question if you consider the following........

    1) Despite he seems to have been around forever he is still only 26.

    2) Apart his lean spell a year or so ago, it does now appear his bowling is only getting better and better

    3) If he does stay 100 % fit given he's only 26 and the fact he's a spinner (they tend to play longer) theres no reason he can't play for another 10 years, or at least damn close to it.
On the theory that in 8 years he has played 62 tests so far, he should play at least that number again in 9-10 years. And therefore at least double his total of 400 wickets and all going well march towards the magical 500 mark.

I know there are a lot of ifs and buts with the above, but it certainly isn't out of the question. That is of course if he does stay 100% fit

What chance of him scroing 10 test hundreds before he hangs up his boots ??

I think his efforts against Australia have been superb, 51 wickets @ 33.45, especially this performance at the WACA when Warne only took two for the match so it wasn't a spinners' wicket by any means. Not comparing Warne and Vettori I must point out, that would be ridiculous, but it just shows that Vettori is capable of being very good.

He has had a very poor couple of seasons recently but in the last year or so he looks to be on the improve again. I hope so at least!

Everyone treats Vettori's bowling with respect is a good sign of him being a good spin bowler. In my opinion he is the best left arm spinner in the world today.
