and one can conclude that simon jones shouldnt be batting at 11
He didn't until the beginning of this series - Hoggard's obduracy got him the number 9 spot, and Harmison's big hitting in South Africa (innings of 42 and 40*) allowed him to movwe up to 10. Jones has talent though, and although his average includes 4 not outs, he's useful. Certainly was in that partnership with Freddie at Edgbaston.

Simon Jones actually looks to be a pretty half-decent batsman - I certainly see him matching the likes of Corky and bagging the odd 50 in tests in years to come.

Most runs (AUS): Langer
Most runs (overall): Strauss
Most wickets (ENG): Harmison

Just need Harmison to take a hatful at the Oval with Strauss and Langer scoring plenty before England win again.

3-1

Trust me there will no other result... McGrath or not... Simon Jones or not.... but rain cannot be helped

England are really playing well... despite loving the tense finish!

a lot of people(including me) have had to swallow their predictions whole....this must be one of the biggest upsets in cricketing history considering how favoured australia was at the beginning of this series and how much of an underdog england was.... :)

Well, it wasn't that disastrous - totally off re: Vaughan and Hoggard though.

Not many people predicted a series win for England. Most Aussies thought it would be a cakewalk.Maybe the players thought the same and couldn't raise their game when they found out how good England were.

Here's what I had. I couldn't have been further off really.

Team I'll be supporting: Australia - At least I got this right
Team who I think will take the Ashes home: Australia - Wrong
Series score: 3-1 - Wrong
Top batsmen from either side (most runs): Damien Martyn - Wrong
Top bowler (most wickets): Glenn McGrath - Wrong, although right until his injury
Top English batsman: Michael Vaughan - Wrong
Top Australian batsman: Damien Martyn - Wrong
Top English bowler: Andrew Flintoff - Right!
Top Australian bowler: Glenn McGrath - Wrong
Surprise package for England: Ian Bell - Wrong
Surprise package for Australia: Simon Katich - Wrong
Man of the Series: Damien Martyn - Wrong

And...
Biggest Disappointment for England: Steve Harmison - He wasn't the biggest disappointment... I'd say he was about 4th after Bell, Geraint and Giles. He was disappointing though.
Biggest Disappointment for Australia: Matthew Hayden - This was right up until the last test... probably Martyn was more disappointing overall, or Gilchrist.
Winner at Lords: Australia - Right here.
Man of the Match at Lords: Ricky Ponting - Wrong
