South African Scheduling for 2005/2006

Salamuddin

South Africa's programme for the season

October 14 to November 6, 2005: New Zealand in RSA (5 ODIs, 1 Standard Bank Pro20)
November 14 to November 29, 2005: RSA in India (5 ODIs)
December 11 to Febuary 14, 2006: RSA in Australia (3 Tests and triangular series against Australia and Sri Lanka)
Febuary 24 to April 4, 2006: Australia in RSA (3 Tests, 5 ODIs, 1 Standard Bank Pro20)
April 7 to May 9, 2006: New Zealand in RSA (3 Tests)

So they are effectively going to go into tests in Australia....without any recent test match practice.

Lunacy!

Anyone care to oppose a 6-0 (provided England don't destroy Aus 5-0 and the entire team get sacked ;))

Silly thing is the board have said that the series are the best preparation for taking on the Aussies!

Wouldn't it have been better for South Africa/New Zealand to take on each other in October?

Seems wierd that you would have to split tours. What is weather like for cricket over in South Africa in April and May? Might get a few washouts?

It looks like Gibbs and Boje may pull out of fear of being arrested

It is time the Indian Government/police got over this - Cronje admitted his guilt, he was banned and he is now dead. If anything new was to be found, it would have been found by now. Williams and Gibbs got 6 month bans although they could have got life time bans.

But Boje, he had nothing do to with it, Cronje only used him to get a deal to go ahead, everybody knows this, except the top brass in Delhi it seems.
