Australia Vs Pakistan

Eclipse

International Debutant
what a thrashing pritty poor effort for a team that many people consider the second best in the world.

well played Hayden and Ponting in particular.

Very meek indeed. Bet they wont have a clue what hit them !!

Cant over emphasize the quality of performance the australians have come up with today.Very professional and aggresive, haven't seen such disrespect shown to waqar or wasim for some time.Total domination, why i couldn't spot the pakistani's anywhere, it was australia all the way along. Hot to handle !!!

For pakistan, well they ought to get their act together very soon. Back to square one, now they'll have to start all over, thats why the maintaning high standard is so imporatant.

maybe that tag of Pakistan being a one man team (Shoaib Ahktar) is coming true. He's been smashed even by Kenya.

Yes he did perform badly(as if everyone else didn't), but dont you think yesterdays uncomfortable win was due to the batsmen playing with complacency ?

I would love to see you try and justify that..

Just hope that today was a 'ONE day' only dont want to see much of this anymore.

Pakistan probably made history, not by getting thrashed but by going into the match with just THREE specialists batters(anwar,Nazir and Younis).Probably the bowlers knew as to whatever score they restrict the Aussies, the Pak batters would never be able to chase it.

As for Akhter, he has just recovered from injury. He was unimpressive in two matches and the pundits are now writing him off.Jees

Wow another pakistani fan ! i thought the species was extinct here ! :D cheers

Well the case here is not writing him off yorker....rather he's supposed to be the man pakistan now depend wholly to win the matches, which i cannot possibly agree to.

Yeah, but Tim should have known better, he raised the same point when Pak was playing the Morocco cup.Indeed Pak lost the cup but the bowlers did a very good job in that tournament.Akhter wasn't missed atall, the batting let Pak down
I think Pak bowling will improve in the comming mathes BUT they don't have the batting in this tour to beat the great Aussie team.

Kenya might fancy their chances against Pak :D

Different Take - This is conclusive proof of what we were saying in another thread - Many of the top ODI sides can beat each other on their days.

Pakistan outplayed Australia a few months back in Australia and then on a neutral ground they have capitulated. Past performances count for little.. See our point now?

Nope, the manner in which Pak lost and the way they chased the total against a side like Kenya suggests that something is wrong with the team.

On what basis then u have tipped Aus/Sa as the fav's for the next WC????

Why is the winning ratio of team like Aus/SA and Pak higher than other team???

On their day even Zimb and Kenya can create an upset BUT they can't go all the way and win a major tournament.

AS for Pak's loss, they are like that, hot and cold team, they were not outplayed by Aus BUT rather lost to themselves. The bowlers bowled like rookies, and without Inzi and Youhanna they were never really in the match!

Yorker - I was going off Pak's win in Aus and saying look how the tables can turn good day.

I never tipped SA - Aus are more consistent, which is why they're favs - and their players peak higher than others

Why is the winning ratio of team like Aus/SA and Pak higher than other team???
As above

On their day even Zimb and Kenya can create an upset BUT they can't go all the way and win a major tournament.
Which is why individual match/series results count for little...

You've still got to give Hayden and Gillespie credit though...

When did I ever post about Pakistan in the Morroco Cup?
im sorry but if you cannot face the facts about this side like others have to with their teams then theres something wrong.

"I think before the series the media were saying to Waqar that Pakistan were a one man team with Shoaib, and in some cases it could be true"

Tim thats wht you said then and again here, now prove your point !!

I'll give you the stats :
Shoaib has played a total of 65 matches, 112 wickets, at 19.83

im sorry but if you cannot face the facts about this side like others have to with their teams then theres something wrong.
I dont think any of my remarks have failed to acknowledge Pakistan's shortcomings, but the 'fact' that pakistan is a one man team is a bit hard to gulp down :)

Thanks Gotchya!

Pakistan have a weak batting line up, they might have lost last match coz of poor bowling but the fact is that they have one of the best bowling line up(even if Shoaib doesn't play). If u can't get this simple fact then something is definately wrong with u!

The batting line up at the moment is a package labelled 'Fragile Handle with care--Every side down'

Though Pakistan pulled off a win against kenya, they are getting me knots in my stomach by the way they are playing. Something just isn't looking right, many lapses in the field, erratic bowling again by waqar and wasim (by the usual standards). Infuriated by the way both malik and anwar got out, you can forgive malik but when will saeed learn not to shuffle across half the darn pitch and then not turn the wrists??? He's totally out of form, u can tell it by the way he's reaching for every delivery rather then waiting for it.

As expected akhter has bounced back and firing.Good show.

Whats the problem with the most experiance bowler,Akram ? He's bowling ten illegal bowls in every match, Waqar is erratic too.

By the way is Inzi injured??

Gotchya

State Vice-Captain
With the amount of experience the two have got, its criminal to bowl the way they are. Waqar can be trusted to improve and jump back he's just like that(plus he's the captain now), i am not sure abt wasim, maybe its one of those tourneys where he'll just keep on struggling with wides and no balls(if you have watched pakistan a lot u know wht i mean).

Inzi well the big man has injured his big foot toe, as the commentators were saying maybe he's saving himself for the later half of the tournament.

Pak 117/10
Aus 121/1

Two words : Disgustingly Horrible :(! :(!

Something is horribly wrong.

I don't know why but too many of the Pakistani batsmen display bad habits in their batting. Possibly in trying to play too many shots to good bowling but there's too much play in front of their pads and they're getting caught a lot. Too much play at the line of the ball rather than the length and or movement, so their hands are too low at the point of contact. This usually results in a lot of catches behind or in gully etc.

The Pakistani batsmen have a LOT of work to do.
