Interestingly, for the 11 Tests before he missed any through injury, he batted 19 times, and was dismissed in single figures on 11 occasions.

So that's not talking about any sort of "comeback"
He was playing through injury, going through a bad form. It can be various factors.

Cheers.

I would say Sachin was okay after 100 runs or so. I actually thought that inning was a better Sachin than the usual Sachin with excellent agressive strokes played to get the runs while he curbed the risks which eventually ensured he got the 240+.

I had often seen him in the past get out to agressive strokes played unnecessarily and was quite happy with the inning.

"Injury Layoff" - missing 2 whole games in the last 2 years? 8-)
so you can only be injured when your team plays games? otherwise you're resting along with your mates? tendulkar has been injured off and on for the past few years, and despite whether the indian team put on the whites or not, he remained injured. "layoff" does not mean layoff from official games but from competition or practice. tendulkar could not practice, bat, bowl, field, anything when he was injured. that's a layoff.

Well said, that's very true.

How does it matter really ?

Being the best batsman in the world doesnt prevent the team from being thrashed and the fans banging their heads against the wall in despair

What? Its Sachin who is responsible alone for India's losses?

A Zee News reader said a few weeks ago 'Sachin hits a century but cannot prevent India from the loss' as if it was his mistake.

You said it.

There was an analysis on Indian Express today showing that eight times that West Indies have lost recently, Lara has been the highest scorer of the test match !!

Sab usi ki galti hai !! :) (Trans : Its all his fault)

Well, obviously...Windies always lose and Lara nearly always gets a bucket full of runs...not very amazing that statistic.

Poor bowling anyone? Crap fielding? Top order collapses? Noooo......Lare scores too many runs, that's the problem <nods vigorously>
