MCC don't like Punter's Bat!

MCC want Punter's bat banned!

What does everyone make of this?

IMHO, it's just a load of crap. How would graphite makes Ponting get so many runs? I would have thought the batsman, not the bat got runs!

EDIT: Link Fixed!

Yep, it's crap. They're basically saying that it's the graphite giving him more power which suggests to me that not a single one of the MCC knows how graphite works. If anything, it has the capacity to deaden the wood. Stupid pratts the MCC are; why on EARTH are they still the custodians of the laws??

but the link was dead for some of us. interesting, i think when they allowed carbon fibre handles, they opened up a whole new ball game. i hope it doesn't turn out like baseball.

Hardly suprising for the poms to try anything to put the aussies off their game.

Unfortunately for the MCC, I don't think it will work

wtf?? they're complaining about the colour of the stickers??

As the game's lawmakers, the MCC is also unhappy with the bright fluorescent green Kookaburra stickers on the bat - dubbed the Kahuna - which they feel flouts the spirit of the game's laws.
HOW THE fk does that flout the spirit of the games law?

Well

I'll just put on my conspiracy theory/anti-Aussie hat for a second and note that Punter used to be a real "tip into the gaps-make the most of limited talent" type player.........

and lately hes been depositing the ball into the stands like Viv Richards

co-incidence?

Where did all that power come from?

gamesmanship taken to new levels.

Next we will have colours of underwears scrutinised.

Actually they do it in the Wimbledon any way and so who is to say MCC will stay behind for long.

That may have something to do with underwear being readily visible at Wimbledon...

Until cricketers start wearing skirts, I don't think they'll go that far.

And I dont think you thought they would object to fluoroscent stickers.

That's not skirt-related though.
Quite a novel idea though. Might inject some oomph into the game.

Its related to the incomprehension of thinking it could ever be done.

The last thing I want is to see Ganguly in a skirt struggling against bouncers.

Sehwag in a skirt would mean comfort levels to play all the more freely.

Paul Adams in a skirt would be all over the place.

Inzamam in a skirt wouldnt make any Pakistani male marry him :S

Andrew Flintoff in a skirt would make the English girls go crazy.

You may finally be able to recognise the difference between the Marshall twins if they wear skirts.
