He's got a bad back; in which case, fair enough. I bet conspiracy theorists make hay with the last paragraph tho....
He has had serious back problems though and - legitmate injury or not - I'm pleased he won't be rushed back into playing test cricket.

BTW, could this now evolve into the official tour thread or are we boycotting the series to show solidarity with the excluded players?

Either way, does anyone have details of South Africa's warm-up match, assuming they're having one? There's nothing on Cricinfo or the official WICB site.

They just arrived in Antigua yesterday or today I believe. The only non-international fixture they have scheduled is after the 2nd test I believe.

Read that yesterday. The piece lost credibility when he talked about the imminent start of the series at Kensington Oval, Barbados and went downhill from there. The fact that he gave credence to Nowell's infamous memo was the final nail in the coffin.
