Really?
I'd be interested to see the evidence for that one.

no evidence to hand..although it does strike me (excuse the pun) that there is a reason why mens boxing is separated from womens boxing

So boxing is down to mainly to strength?
I mean, I don't know much about it, but the way I understand strength is a relatively secondary matter.

well ok..punching power, which is surely related to strength in some way....

obviously the ability to take a hit as well..but again a lot of that is to do with strength as well

Yes, but it's much more to do with speed and sleight of hand, wrist, arm, elbow and shoulder... and far more to do with disguise and skill.
The way I understand it a skilled boxer of no weight will defeat an unskilled one any day.

.
depends on what type of boxer you are...plenty of boxers have succeeded through sheer power

Power gained through reasons other than strength.

There's far, far more to power than strength - cricket should tell you that.

This goes back to the old thinking before posting idea that I was apparently wrong to highlight.

I agree with Richard here(wonders never cease!). If a woman tries to assualt me, she is fair game. period. Infact i did clock a street tramp once who pulled a knife on me and tried to stab me......

All you blokes who go high and mighty on chauvinism or sexism dont realise that it is sexist to have prefferential treatment of either sexes in a matter of assault.
And women cant fight as good as men is a popular myth. Go to some marshall arts classes and you will see that the top ace is more often a girl than a guy...this is because women have more flexibility and a trained girl will just plant her boot on your face just as easily as you'd roundhouse her.
