**Official** New Zealand v Australia

Why do you think Lance Hamilton is a journeyman?

Why not take a punt on him? If he gets selected, he's deserved it. He's been one of the best domestic NZ pace bowlers for a few years now, and has earnt praise from S Waugh, I Smith, M Crowe and among others.

Pure and simple - not quick enough.

Just my opinion of course, so don't abuse me, Ming.

He has a reputation of spraying it around like Ron Jeremy on rollerskates - and his RPO would kinda suggest that.

In saying that, I'm a fan, and he appears to have tightened things up over the last couple of months, so give him a go, I say.

Yes I agree but surely he has to be better then Mills or Wilson,

I say give him another try (and maybe a go in tests)

Wilson's domestic bowling:

M O M R W Ave BB SR ER
This season (FC): 3 87.1 27 245 10 24.50 4-46 - - 52.3 2.81 OTAGO
This season (OD):10 78.2 8 317 14 22.64 3-23 - - 33.5 4.04 OTAGO
Last season (FC): 5 144.5 40 390 23 16.95 5-71 2 - 37.7 2.69 OTAGO
Last Season (FC): 5 6.1 3 13 0 - - - - - 2.10 OTAGO

Those are good numbers, no matter which way you slice it. If anything, he'd done so well of late it's more a matter of why they didn't pick him sooner.
Looking at those statistics, it's not a surprise he's been selected and his experience at international level for over ten years would obviously be on his side. Deserves another chance though, he bowled alright in the FICA series and although he hasn't started well against Australia, I'd keep him in the side at the moment.

I think he was fortunate to make his test debut to be honest, he's an ODI specialist and should stick to that form of the game.

I just think he should be tried for a game instead of Mills. Just to see.

voltman will be pleased to know and ming may not be but adams has openly admitted that he has sacrificed a bit of pace in hopes for a bit more consistent accuracy

N.B: i also would not like to be abused, Ming 8-)

Yes he has, took 6 wickets in the Auckland test against England.
Indeed - his bowling actually helped us to a win.

Some see him as more of a four-day/test bowler, because of his willingness to try things. While his batting may not necessarily be suited to grafting through a couple of sessions, I wouldn't see any harm in trying him out in a test or two.
