Its funny but they are definitely more in abundance in the sub continent. BS Chandrashekhar comes immediately to mind. But that was a time when being a star bowler (or batsman), at times and in India, excused you from any serious fielding efforts. In modern, times nevertheless, Nehra, Ganguly and their ilk ned to be made an example of.

Many here write against Ganguly for various reasons, batting, captaincy, arrogance etc, but I think if there is one thing for which the Indian captain neds to be castigated and made to answer for if he does not show improvement is his pathetic indifference to fielding which everyone knows can be improved by putting in time.

...all the players mentioned above are veritable Jonty Rhodes compared to this butter fingered gentleman. His continued selection to the English side showed that:

a) - British selectors do have a sense of humour, and
b) - British selectors also have a very large sadistic streak!

:D :D :D :D :D

Mark Richardson isn't much of a fielder, but that could just be because he struggles to get to the ball most of the time.

Yet there is little doubt that Ironmonger (being nearly 47 when he made his Test-debut wouldn't have helped) was infinately worse than the lot of them.

Tuffnell for sure. One of the worst fielders ive ever seen. Worth the price of admission just to see this guy stuff up the simplest of tasks.
