V.D.L must stand for Van Diemen's Land (i.e., Tasmania)

There were matches between Van Diemen's Land and Port Phillip (= Victoria) in the 1850s

Is it the first Australian inter-colonial matches?

Okay I will give it to you.

It is the first officially recognised first class match in Australia between Van Diemen's Land (later Tasmania) and Port Phillip (later Victoria) played in Feb 1851.

Well Done. :clapping: :clapping:

OK, I'll try one.

I'm a cricket ground. Although I have hosted international matches, the event I'm best remembered for did not take place in one of them.

Where am I and what was the famous event?
