Yes (they played Tests)
No, he played before the tour for Aust. but did not play again for his country
He could keep wicket, was great in the covers, could bowl both hands, which he did in a FC match once, but yes mainly a batsman

We are looking at players who toured in 1896, but not in 1899, is that right? That would appear to be the case in view of your comment re: Albert Trott.

OK a hint,

He never toured England, but he was selected for the 1896 tour, but the offer was withdrawn so he sued, he was unluck not to be selected for another tour of england earlier when they took Burn as reserve WK and he had never kept before:)
