Thank God for that.NikhilN said:roflmao...well he says patel will stay...it looks like yuvraj is going
Thats a 100% right mate....in theory.Arjun said:It does not matter whether he plays or not....every player has to contribute and they should play as a team. All 6 batsmen should score runs. All 4 bowlers should take 20 wickets. All extra runs should be saved and stopped. All catches should be taken. Even the slightest.

But if he plays lacking match fitness and gets out cheaply it could devastate the team.shaka said:Good thing too, India need him for morale
He could fail anyway. Not necessarily on account of match fitness. Sachin has , so far in his career, not been less than very serious about his injuries. He has not been in a great hurry to come back. I will be surprised if he was going to risk an injury at this stage of his carer.mavric41 said:But if he plays lacking match fitness and gets out cheaply it could devastate the team.
Agreed 100%, although I just dont like the idea of Patel opening.SJS said:He could fail anyway. Not necessarily on account of match fitness. That said, I have no doubt that the 'short of runs' Laxman and Ganguly would be much more at ease mentally with Sachins name added to the batting card.
The only thing India can do wrong now is to make a mistake as to who will open.
If they have any sense, they will open with Chopra and drop both Yuvraj and Kaif (bad luck for Kaif). The second best would be to open with Parthiv and drop only Yuvraj.
It would be a disaster to open with Yuvraj and have him give catching practice to first slip and Sehwag fall to the law of averages
It will undo all the advantage India might be anticipating with Sachin's return.
I know. But I dont think the wind is blowing in Chopra's fravour and they havent another specialist opener in the squadmasterblaster said:Agreed 100%, although I just dont like the idea of Patel opening.
Why MUST he play test cricket ? He should play test cricket if he is found to be amongst the eleven most suitable players for the team. PERIOD. There is no MUST about this.honestbharani said:I don't want to start a fresh debate, but if Yuvraj has to play test cricket, his best bet is at the top of the order. The way he plays the spinners is comical, at best and painful to watch, at worst. So, if he is to have his best shot at succeeding in international test scene, he has to open or bat #3.
But on the topic, I would drop Yuvi for Sachin and replace Irfan with Agarkar. That would be my XI for this match.
The way I see it, if Yuvraj has to play test cricket, he has to prove that he can. Kaif did in the only innings he played in, Chopra has proved it in Australia and Pakistan and so have pretty much everyone else in the Indian squad.honestbharani said:I don't want to start a fresh debate, but if Yuvraj has to play test cricket, his best bet is at the top of the order.
