Knocking bats in. Help needed asap

Hey guys ive got to knock in my brothers bat for 6 hours before xmas. Ive never had to knock a bat in because i get quality bats handed down from seniors at the cricket club. How do i go about knocking it in?
Do i knock one spot in for longer than other places?
How long do i spend on the edges. etc.
All help is appreciated
