Appears to be the type of wicket that you needed one of the top four to be in at the 40th to take a toll on things. England's been happy to go harder and harder because of their batting depth, but this wicket - and some excellent Pakistani bowling - has made it hard to pick up where the last guy left off.

Think they've fielded really well on the whole though, the two chances were tough ones to be fair.
Yeah as mentioned above Root's was the key, it's a hard pitch to accelerate on but I don't think it's a super hard pitch to stay in on. Which is why 220 won't be defendable.

Root's to blame though. After being set and looking untroubled he had to bat through. Was very poor shot

Apart from that, I think you're wrong anyway. He knows that England can't expect much from Wood and Ball, so he's trying to build something, even if it's way below what they wanted at the start of play.
