Madness, should have had him on as 1st change and just bowled Rabada and Morkel out too. They needed to bowl India out and only way is to bowl the best 3 bowlers in the side.
You can't keep bowling the pacers. They get tired, especially when they are trying their best to get wickets, it's a question of balancing. I do agree that Tahir should have come in though.

Bowl them for the opening 10, put Tahir on at best end for him and rotate the best 2 quicks in 1 over spells. Only need to bowl 10 and many bowl that many in a spell in a test match at some stage so not like it will kill them.

It won't but imo it takes away from their effectiveness, A Rabada in his 6th over may not be particularly more effective than a Morris in his second.
