can /= will
it's why I take issue with the overachievers tag. They're underachievers.
Of course cricinfo ran a patronising story. You don't actually expect their writers to work for a living do you?
You can guarantee if the Saffies don't win this competition even with umpteen first choice players missing, the matches they lose will be examined with a fine comb for where the chokes began.
Don't squander the gold of your days making a shrine of cricket videos, trying to improve the hopeless failure, giving your life away to the Blockys, the Devciches and the Weerasundaras! Surrender your devout little cricketing heart to the inured agribusinessman.

Baz needs to go back to keeping as Ronchi is dead weight. One option is to bring in either Fulton or Ruthers or Latham to open.
The other option is to hope Elliot recovers and to open with either him or Franklin.
I got great enjoyment shouting "WHY THE **** ISN'T THIS GAME BEING PLAYED AT THE BASIN?!>!?!?" to reasonably significant cheers from the sparse crowdOverrated XI Warner, Rutherford, Steve Smith, Rahane, Bairstow, Alecz Day, Donovan Grobelaar, Luke Ronchi, Faulkner, Dan Christian, Permaulone day NZ will bring chappell to his knees in a puddle of his own tears and you'll see Phlegm on his belly greedily tasting every delicious tear before watching the hope fade from that old ****s eyes.
Franklin and Elliott are far less suited to opening than Ronchi and they don't have roles suited to it nor the pay off Ronchi gives you if he succeeds.
Elliott is a middle overs accumulator, the guy you want at number five in and ODI to set the innings up and keep things moving. Franklin varies between death overs hitting and stodgy innings resurrector with very little between.
Elliott loves the little glances and runs down to third man that will get you out against the new ball. Likewise Franklin has a technique even less suited to opening the batting than Ronchi because it consists of timing and nothing else. Seriously, once that bloke's eyes go we will know because he will turn into a number eleven at domestic level overnight.
We've got an unbalanced squad and we just have to deal with it unless we can somehow fake an injury. In the meantime, give Ronchi some games since he's the best option as it is and it might just work. He is also a decent wicketkeeper and McCullum's glovework these days is dodgy, so Ronchi has to play somewhere.
After this tournament though I think we'll either see Ronchi drop down the order if there is room or Watling will get recalled.
Trying to get Ronchi away in England was pretty stupid tbh, you don't turn the treadmill setting from a 2 to a 9 and then express shock that the guy fell on his face.
Saw Rutherford try a pull shot for Essex, and he was executing a really sexy slog sweep (seriously though, Latham may well bowl a bit for Scotland).

Franky batting top 3 for Glos, 966 at 51, two tons.
Sunday afternoons, county attacks who've already played their four-dayer during the week, nothing really moving the meter for anyone. Yeah I can see it tbf.
Lol strong placebo effect on that Vettori injection hahahaha
McCullum has to take the gloves, what I have seen of Ronchi is 2 miss stumpings, one of them was as simple as it gets and two very difficult dropped catches in 4 games to go with his average of about 3. He is obviously either out of form or his confidence is shot.
