On a hard and fast deck tonight we haven't accelerated the run rate at all. Despite a couple of their bowlers being fatigued. Best bat has 51 off 33 balls but my opener is 33 off 44 balls.
As I type they take 22 off an over: Duncan now 46 from 47 balls. Takes us to 110 with 4 overs remaining. Hopefully we can post an average score and bowl well. Next over starts wd, 6, 6, 4

Was in it until they took 17 off the second last over. Now they need 4 off the last...get slightly annoyed when an ordinary bat scores 66 off 43 balls (his rating is 10000 for ****'s sake!). Despite that, him getting out would have only seen a better bat in.
Get a wicket off the first ball of the last over and then go for 4 off the second to lose the game. My best bowler is ****house at Twenty20 it seems. Only scoring at 3 an over for the first 3-4 overs didn't help my cause either. |

End of Over 32: 179-3, runrate=5.59
Parkes 6-0-39-2 Nissanka* 17 (20 balls) Mukhopadhyay 58 (60 balls) Last Wicket: Mulvaney Run Out 27 (FOW: 131/3) Not bad. Mukhopadhyay is a gun. Mulvaney (learn to run between the wickets!) and him are my core, if they fail the whole batting fails. So, I've got a problem. My two openers are failing most innings. Should I replace them? They started off so good, averaging 50 and 100, and one of them is my captain. What should I do? |

End of Over 50: 286-9, runrate=5.72
Tench 10-0-50-2 Nissanka* 64 (67 balls) Rocastle 2 (5 balls) Last Wicket: Jabulile lbw b. Rayno 0 (FOW: 283/9) Pretty happy with that score. Again, Mukhopadhyay is my saviour. Nissanka has proven to be a good buy for me with his wicketkeeping batting, plus he is only 17 and will be trained up to be good. Shame my tail had to collapse, I could have pressed on and made a bigger score if they hadn't. |

Won the toss against a bot today and batted first:
Coco's Nuts - 390/2 (Duncan 202*, Nkosinathi 94, Faulconbridge 55; Sansome 1/82) Should bowl them out for not much too. Good to get a chance to get both runs and wickets. Duncan's my second bat to ever reach 200. Would have backed Nkosinathi to add to his 220* from a previous season, but he's getting out to bot teams this season for some reason. MMT two wickets down in seven balls for no runs so far ![]() Make that 3/1 in 10 balls. Game's finished predictably early. MMT - 14/10 (Sansome 6; Mabudafhasi 5/8, Andre 3/5, Faulconbridge 1/0 off 1 ball) Last edited by Son Of Coco; 16-07-2009 at 09:32 PM. |

End of Over 38: 194-2, runrate=5.11, reqrunrate=7.75 (286-9)
Waterworth 9-0-31-0 Barlow* 4 (5 balls) Benjamin 98 (132 balls) Last Wicket: Francis Run Out 31 (FOW: 189/2) Game slowly swinging back in my favour. God I hope my allrounder doesn't have to bowl at the death though if it's close. |

And that's the end of the match. bushrangers cc won by 6 wickets.
Killers CC 286-9 bushrangers cc 287-4 End of Over 49: 287-4, runrate=5.86 Jabulile 9-0-86-0 Bullivant* 4 (4 balls) Barlow 55 (38 balls) Only I could lose a match from a commanding position. When their best batsmen came in (who I dismissed after a quickfire 22 everything changed. Jabulile, what sort of bowling is that!?!? Dropped. EDIT: Actually, that's an overreaction. I'm gunna give him and Britz a trial in Sunday's friendly and the bet bowler, combined with past perfomances, will partner Waters opening the bowling. Was an epic match mate. Thoroughly enjoyable.
![]() EDIT: Jake, Jabulile is on moderate fitness. What did you think was going to happen?

Yeah, Jake you need to rest some guys if you want them to perform at their best.
A few more players as back up would make it easier to do that though. Last edited by Son Of Coco; 17-07-2009 at 01:16 AM. |
