CW Battrick Cup (Season 11)

Griffin's a better bat than Tedstone tbh, so not too bothered at Tedstone going now, as long as Canning can hang around for a bit.
Righto. Just going by the ratings. Griffin's got a pretty poor batting average for this season. He in poor form?

Anyway, key partnership in now. Terry still in and going strong. While he's there, the Ponies are still very much in the game.

What are Canning's current skillz, by the way? Hoping that Ireland goes on to become an equally important legend.

Terry and Griffin go in consecutive balls, but a barrage from Canning off Ireland's last over takes them home.

Disappointing in the end, but closely matched. The usually economical Ireland was taken apart at the end, which is pretty unusual. His worst figures for a long, long time.

Magical Ponies Connells Estates CC
Top Order: sensational quality
Middle Order: strong remarkable
Lower Order: abysmal competent
Seam Bowling: exquisite masterful
Spin Bowling: strong remarkable
Fielding: feeble mediocre

Yeah, was a good close game, glad I had to go to work in the end or I probably wouldn't have been able to watch it. To answer your question re: Canning:

Gavin Canning - 25 yo, BT Rating=146,120
RH Batsman, RFM Bowler, superb batting form, superb bowling form, lively fitness.
An attacking player with woeful leadership skills and quality experience.
Stamina: superb Wicket Keeping: worthless
Batting: wonderful Concentration: wonderful
Bowling: exquisite Consistency: exquisite
Fielding: proficient

And Terry's sensational/masterful, if you were wondering.

Hmmm... Canning probably a better bat than Ireland will ever be, but I'd hope Ireland could be his equal, or possibly even a better bowler. Sadly, I don't have a batsman of anywhere near the class of Terry.

8. Eddie Ireland - 22 yo, BT Rating=111,124
RH Batsman, RFM Bowler, strong batting form, superb bowling form, energetic fitness.
A cautious player with proficient leadership skills and competent experience.
Stamina: superb Wicket Keeping: worthless
Batting: remarkable Concentration: remarkable
Bowling: exceptional Consistency: exquisite
Fielding: competent

REPECHAGE DRAW.

Withington Wonderers V Asterix XI
Connells Estates CC V Central Districts
Dalmeny Cricket Club V Anchormen

Either side to challenge, but unless I hear otherwise, buck stops with the home team. Just to help things along a bit, I'll Btmail Adam, Nooga and Smith, just to let them know they're up.

Personallly gutted, lost out on topping the group by eight runs or one wicket V Anchormen, But also hard lines to Beard XI and Victoria Panthers who fought brave campaigns, in particular Mike for bucking his seeding to take 2nd in Group C.

Tawonga Tigers were the pick of the plucky losers, but team of the tournament thus far is undoubtedly Alternative XI, who came from 3rd seeds in arguably the toughest match-up, to take Group A on the rails! - Alters take a bow, and have a rest for a week, you're safely into the quarters.

Not clever boys! None of the three repachage matches have been arranged for this weekend, with only twelve hours to go until head-knocking-together time. Has anyone challenged anyone? Because unless I hear otherwise, then the home sides (Withington, Connells and Dalmeny), will lose by default, and Asterix, Central Districts and Anchormen will go through by default.

Chop chop, clock's ticking! Trev

I challenged Asterix before heading off for NYE. Either Tuesday evening or yesterday morning, I can't remember which.

I challenged Connells the day you sent me the BT-Mail.

Asterix batting, 62/2 from 16 overs. The pitch is H&F and it's partially cloudy and humid out there.

Not too displeased so far -- hopefully I'll restrict them to 200 before being bowled out for 30 :(

Beat Dalmeny... was very lucky to actually accept the challenge actually. PFL is totally ****ed though.
