CW Battrick Cup, season nine

Oh dear. Adu gone, followed soon after by Huddlestone.

156-6 off 42 overs, and only Batty left to partner Candappa.

Antoine, Acton and Marsh will not stick around long.

EDIT: Batty gone, and Antoine follows next ball. The end is nigh, and the game is Clapo's.

Good win for the lad. Pretty much my first XI out there at the moment, though most of them are some way short of fitness, I think Clapo's in the same boat.

Bloody hell Candappa is a cretin. Taking singles off the first ball of an over, leaving Marsh to face five balls. He'll be lucky to survive one - gifting Verhoeven a five wicket haul - undeserved. Savage has been the real bowling star for Clapo - Verhoeven just clearing up the tail end scraps.

EDIT: Marsh gone - five for Verhoeven. 165 all out.

Will need a top effort from Ireland and a bit of luck for Marsh to bowl out Clapo for less than that. It ain't gonna happen.

End of Over 47: 165-10, runrate=3.51
Verhoeven 8-1-45-5
Candappa* 22 (30 balls)

Hopefully we can knock these runs over without too many hickups. It's my strongest XI, Heath, and I think the majority of the players are on engergetic/invigorated due to me GFI'ing on Friday.

Will take some chasing. Burnip + Hammers = Hurst win?

BARNES OUT
End of Over 50: 325-2, runrate=6.50
Kelly 10-0-69-0
Conn* 135 (129 balls)
Munroe 12 (10 balls)
Last Wicket: Keane c. Gravey b. Sicelo 141 (FOW: 302/2)

If I don't defend this on a slow pitch I won't be happy.

Last Wicket: Tailor c. Bardle b. Greene 97 (FOW: 265/2)

Massive effort in the last 10 overs from Delgado and Warnakulasuriya to get us to over 300. They scored 96 runs in the last 10 overs. Could have scored 350 odd though if we had a better opening batsmen then Tailor, really scored too slow. Might be time to open with Delgado. Might be able to defend this, but with the way my average openers batted it looks like 350 track.

End of Over 9: 34-0, runrate=3.78, reqrunrate=3.22 (165-10)
Marsh 5-0-14-0
Kanelo* 16 (30 balls)
Harris 15 (25 balls)

Off to a solid start with the bat. Hoping to not lose a wicket, but that's probably asking a bit much.

BARNES OUT
End of Over 18: 90-3, runrate=5.00, reqrunrate=7.38 (325-2)
Hyde 4-0-30-0
Beaumont* 57 (52 balls)
Brinkhuys 3 (4 balls)
Last Wicket: Gravey lbw b. Hodge 25 (FOW: 85/3)

Conn and Seneviratne are on next, hoping for Beaumont. Problem is that he's stacked the lower and middle order, still Hocking and Stonebridge to come. It's not out of range for him yet.

Cruising along here. 10 wicket victory looking likely atm.

You can't afford to miss straight balls. Clean bowled.

Speak of, exactly what I wanted. Hocking in and out of position, let's see how it goes.
