The archived thread can be found here.

Should be an easy win for me today, but you can never be too careful, so Bardle plays.

Lost, as per usual. The incredibly worthless player I opened the bowling with was one of the more economical bowlers in the attack compared to the med/med's. Weird.

An easy win again today. Getting pretty silly in div 5 now, got one team who has been in my league every season who consistently smashes everyone but always throws his playoff or something, one or two other competent teams including Gelman's, and me constantly in second place. Would be nice if the top side went up for next season to change things a bit.

In all sorts of trouble on TIE against Victoria Drivers, in a match I should have won with my eyes shut. Was 2/2 with Exc/Strong Greening and Sup/Wond Noon back in the hutch. Rem/Sup Staveley and Strong/Strong Jeffery have stabilised things a bit, and I'm currently 37/2 after 8.

Having a look at BUCK's 11 side he probably isn't good enough for Div IV Australia. The gap between D4 and D5 is pretty signifcant in Australia, so just cus a side smashes it in D5 doesn't mean they are good enough to win a playoff in to make it to D4. Unless he gets lucky and gets auto promoted you will probably see a lot more of him.

OMG we won, we won, we ****ing won. Some how we just beat the team coming first in our league. We rested Jeithoon and played Muralitharan as a specialist batsmen. Willetts took a 8-fer such a gun and i was going to sell him. Best bowling figures ever for the Jets. Ellis also got a 90 odd and i was going to sell him too. Yes we won.

Code:
And that's the end of the match. Jaffna Jets won by 5 runs.
Jaffna Jets 275-10
Moratai CC 270-10

Willetts 9-1-50-8

Taking forever to bowl out one of the worst sides in the league, on a compliant pitch. Mmph, and I could've done with the NRR boost as well.

End of Over 29: 79-6, runrate=2.72
Liddle 8-1-30-1
Andrew* 37 (83 balls)
Adenegan 0 (10 balls)

Nice rally for Trev's side after those early wickets...

Yep, things looking pretty good for me ATM, 180 ish/2 after 32. But even better than that, WHo's Your Daddy are in trouble against 3rd Veets, who are 189 without loss after 34.

Well done Tharmi, the side you beat kocked me out of the Twenty20, Swines!

Looking like a good day all round for the CW teams; while Mahinda is off organising a piss-up in a brewery, his team look like getting the win and NRR boost to hoist themselves out of the automatic drop zone...

End of Over 15: 62-2, runrate=4.13, reqrunrate=0.34 (73-10)
Fisher 1-0-2-0
Sandwith* 43 (35 balls)
Fish 5 (19 balls)

Needs to maintain a run-rate of 4 to nick 6th place, I believe...

Cormack 9-0-51-2
Robertson* 107 (124 balls)
Baines 9 (10 balls)

In a very good position. We should get to about 270, making it very difficult for the opposition to chase down. My bowling attack is relatively unexperienced after i brought in 2 younger players, but they have been taking wickets against the better teams, so i can hope that they do the same today. Robertson continuing his fine form, just off the back of 2 50s, he's really deserved this ton, he is 32 after all.

All coming up roses here. Reached 300 exactly, thanks to 104 from Staveley, 95 Jeffery, and a pelvis-cracking 76* from Cash, off just 48 balls.

Given the deficit in NRR between Whos Your Daddy and ourselves, I'd really like to have bowled first, but if I can roll them for something in the order of 150, then there's still a boost of around 3 points to be had.

Meanwhile Whos Your Daddy have been set a tough-looking 304 to win against Veets on a Dusty Pitch. I wouldn't back against them chasing it, although even if they do, they'll hardly get any NRR advantage from the game.

Game on! Trev.

Off to London now, to play in the Blind Cricket Cup final at Lord's tomorrow, so I'll have to catch up with it all on Monday.
