Harbourtown v Kipper XI

Harbourtown: 5-272

Kipper XI: 2-144 (30 overs)

Dove 27*
Attwood 8*

RR is far too low, not really a chance at the moment if they keep going at this rate

Looking good.

In my league, one team was in trouble at 6-66, then a wicket fell and the number 9 came in, a pure bat with a wage of 22k, the chase being well and truly on. And another team was 9 down with 39 to win, and now they need 14 to win. Both of the teams that looked like losing were my rivals for the league title, was happy, now it looks like ill have to work a bit harder to take out the league.

Attwood is losing this game for me at the moment, disgraceful strike rate given that his batting is set to 'normal'. Hopefully he goes out soon.

Interesting fact #126 - Hockings 100th run today also took him over 4000 career OD runs.

Code:
End of Over 42: 288-1, runrate=6.86, reqrunrate=3.38 (314-2)
Govender	8-0-60-0
Hocking*	160 (128 balls)
Hiller	74 (74 balls)
Last Wicket: Alshaun c. Loxton b. Whing 48 (FOW: 101/1)
If i collapse here, i will be very upset.

All over

And that's the end of the match. Four Pillars and Poor Fillers won by 9 wickets.
Normo1 314-2
Four Pillars and Poor Fillers 315-1

End of Over 46: 315-1, runrate=6.85
Miah 8-0-72-0
Hiller* 93 (85 balls)
Hocking 168 (137 balls)

Thats like Hiller's 10th 90.

Didn't really think I had a chance, I really had to bowl them out for about 220 given how dire my batting is, but Canning getting carted didn't help (0/52).

Batting would normally be prof-comp but I moved Dylan down the order for a rest. Batting is the primary skill being trained so it's the one improving the most.

Rolled them for 232, Granville taking 4, Matharu 2, Sishayi 2 and Priyantha 1. Granville proving to be pretty gun signing. Perfect for D3 SL, a class above most sides and can hold his own against any half decent side.

So win this easierly they get comp/resp bowling ratings but my main three batsmen should take care of this total.

Damn, should have won that with ease, except for Attwood scoring 34 from 76 balls. Attwood cost me that game tbh.

Hahaha Scaly. I love this part of his post:

For those who get British TV I'll be on Countdown on Tuesday October 23rd (winner stays on for up to 8 shows), you can catch me on MSN or whatever if you want to talk to me about that or anything else. The finals stage is oddly being filmed on the 23rd and 24th of October - so I'm saying now that I won't be online then so as to avoid giving anything away.
Hahaha, as though anybody's going to monitor his online status over that period to get the scoop on who wins.

TIEing against the best side in my league - never expected to be competitive, but it's still rather depressing. I'm bowling.

End of Over 38: 242-1, runrate=6.37
Horsfield 9-0-65-0
Nolan* 64 (72 balls)
Westlake 111 (103 balls)

Last Wicket: Abikanile lbw b. Nolan 53 (FOW: 92/1)

Should be absolutely bossing my match, but Liebenberg stayed in for an interminable 64 off 121 balls, wasting almost a full 10 overs. Hopefully Janes and Bromby can rescue something in the last 8, but that could really cost me the match. Argh.

End of Over 43: 194-1, runrate=4.51
Holly 7-0-49-0
Janes* 3 (3 balls)
Bromby 124 (134 balls)

Result: Anchormen wins by 10 wickets.
MOTM: Bhutia (81*)

Pretty comfortable victory there, though I'm annoyed that we had to bowl for 47 overs. Ralph took 0/21 off his ten overs :@ Still, Bhutia has continued his good form and is looking good for a breakout seasons. Started the season with an average of below 50, he has since scored 200 odd runs for only one dismissal. Also got solid ratings, still some improvement to get with PFL though:

Anchormen
Top Order: remarkable
Middle Order: respectable
Lower Order: worthless

I really bloody hate this team I'm playing; despite being considerably more skilled, for some reason my lot always seem to make a huge meal of beating them (if they manage it at all). Most galling of all is that they have two bowlers who somehow conspire to be utterly immortal in our OD league despite being of merely modest stature, and regularly rip through my batsmen with gay abandon. Rrrrrrgh. Anyway, made it to a respectable enough score for a green pitch despite a ludicrous collapse at the end, ensuring that said bowlers retain their single-figure averages.

End of Over 50: 253-9, runrate=5.06
Black 10-0-48-6
Pead* 1 (1 balls)
Platt 14 (8 balls)

I shall now go and grumble at my lunch until the salad makes a bid for freedom and tries to throttle me with the baguette wrapper. Only Bromby's 140 is stopping me from seeking out a puppy right now so I can poke it with a stick.
