im not going to win so only a draw is on the cards but he has way better players than me so.....

End of Over 110 (2 runs). Morir: 544-5, runrate=4.95
Convery 14-1-51-2
Tšeliso* 285 (307 balls)
Dance 0 (2 balls)

Batting for probably a draw, since I've rested my best bowlers and Bromby; don't see me taking 20 wickets with the attack I'm using, on an H+F. Lost an early wicket, but then Janes came on and instantly laid into their best bowler, taking his figures from 5-3-2-1 to 7-3-20-1. Crash bang.

Doing ok here against fairly strong opposition. I'm at home so playing on a H+F and hoping for a high-scoring draw to get me lots of points and three days of income. I won the toss and am batting first:

End of Over 27 (12 runs). The Heath CC: 112-3, runrate=4.15
Gough 5-0-34-0
Kepler* 28 (37 balls)
Gardiner 13 (13 balls)

Their manager hasn't logged in for quite a while and a lot of their PFL's are quite low. Their best bowler has moderate PFL, but still got both my openers :@

Sutton got his fourth duck in four innings. Not a great start to the season for him.

Edit:

The players are off the field for lunch.

End of Over 35 (4 runs). The Heath CC: 143-4, runrate=4.09
Gough 9-1-46-1
Kepler* 47 (57 balls)
Bartlett 10 (23 balls)

Last Wicket: Gardiner c. Esterhuizen b. Gough 14 (FOW: 115/4)

Kepler going well, hopefully he and Bartlett can carry on throughout the afternoon and get us towards maximum batting points. Still a fair bit of batting to come as well, with Talbot and Hennessy both in good form and Marrison at no.9.

Janes and Platt at the crease, and as expected the run rate starts to climb. 50 off the last 6 overs, and who knows; the declaration target of 550 might not even last the day...

End of Over 44 (14 runs). Beard XI: 230-2, runrate=5.23
Weerakoon 5-0-39-0
Platt* 28 (43 balls)
Janes 132 (104 balls)

Why 500, why not just the 360 to get the full points and then bowl them out twice?

Brackenhurst - 502/5 dec. off 80 overs
Burnip 254* (233)
Hamlin 79 (73)
Read 72 (71)

Mules - 127/0 off 30 overs

Going to need some top bowling performances to get a result. Great scoring rate for us helps.

Don't think this is going to last long:

5.2 W Pace to Mhabuthangeni
Delivered from wide of the crease and coming in sharply. Mhabuthangeni turning away from the ball but there was a noise as it passed him. Big appeal and the umpire has given him. That just brushed the glove as it went past. Unlucky for Mhabuthangeni; Pace is delighted.
5.1 1 Pace to Teasdale
He’ll be looking for two here, but a great stop keeps it to a single.

End of Over 5 (Maiden, 2lb). Borders Batters: 5-4, runrate=1.00
Trail by 500 runs. (Scaly Piscine CC 505-4 dec)
Summers 3-2-1-4
Teasdale* 3 (13 balls)
Mhabuthangeni 0 (2 balls)

Last Wicket: Gabriel c. Armstrong b. Summers 0 (FOW: 5/4)

Day 1, morning session

CC Törööö 128/2 (35)
Woodward 75* (90), Wade 34
Harris 2/26 (11)

@ Dynamo Morpork

Hopefully not too much underestimation - wanted to rest some players and get the match into three days. I've got some mediocres to proficients which might help Harris once the tail comes in.

Close of play

The Heath CC: 289/10 (75.4) Kepler 85 (114)
Birdy's Boys: 156/0 (34) Esterhuizen 86* (97), Gough 63* (111)

Slightly disappointing performance today. Lots of players got starts, but no one other than Kepler went on to make anything remotely significant. Three batting points are better than none though.

Bowling has gone much as I expected - their top order is pretty impressive by my standards. I'll set my bowlers to bowl more defensively tomorrow, and my batsmen will be looking to occupy the crease as well as I look for a draw.

Cantered to 550/5 two overs before the close, they finished with 1 for no wicket. Some truly rubbish batsmen on my side chipped in, Piton (med/comp, feeble form) managing 54, and Marriott (abys/feeb, worthless form) a sterling 48 not out. While my opponent's batting is nothing to write home about, it certainly seems that defensive orders can really make your tail-enders stick around in FC.

Now two days to bowl 'em out twice. Don't see it happening with neither Oleary nor Pead in the team, but miracles do happen.

Not too disappointed here, the top three all made ducks (including **** for a first baller and opener Cattermole after 30 balls) but the middle order dug in well. Then not too bad with the ball, could have them all out for ~ 220 tomorrow.

Update, shortly after tea:

CC Törööö 297/4 (71.5)
Woodward 153*, Greenaway 84
Harris 3/54 (21), Wrigley 1/56 (11.5)

@ Dynamo Morpork

Bit of a ****, this Woodward. My competent 32yo original spinner has his first FC wicket though.

94k in gate receipts too.
