Incredibly, it's tense stuff in Beardland. Having made just 109 in my innings, we fought back to have them 43-5. However Piercy and Marriott are now leaking runs, and it's unlikely Oleary and Pead will be back on in time to help. Just 36 runs left to play with, and I really need one of these two to pull a finger out:

End of Over 25: 73-5, runrate=2.92, reqrunrate=1.48 (109-10)
Marriott 6-1-22-0
Taggart* 38 (44 balls)
Ball 2 (29 balls)
Last Wicket: Osbourne c. Marriott b. Gill 2 (FOW: 43/5)

End of Over 16: 84-3, runrate=5.25, reqrunrate=4.15 (224-10)
Greaves 3-0-12-2
Kepler* 45 (46 balls)
Kemp 0 (2 balls)
Last Wicket: Knight c. Binnington b. Greaves 0 (FOW: 83/3)

Hmmm

Bit worried.

End of Over 21: 89-4, runrate=4.24, reqrunrate=6.10 (265-10)
Glasser 1-0-2-0
Oakes* 21 (38 balls)
Britton 3 (12 balls)

Last Wicket: Dudgeon b. Eade 0 (FOW: 84/4)

Not looking at all good here tbh.

Best. Win. EVER.

Put in to bat, we're down and out at 56-5 after just 14 overs. Janes does the unthinkable and puts something together with the tail, and we scrape our way to 109 all out. Only Oleary can save us, surely.

First two balls: two wickets down. It then calms down a bit, but by the time Oleary and Pead's spells are over they're 22-3 and rocking. Gill starts chipping in, and before you know it they're 43-5. But then Marriott and Piercy start leaking runs, and soon they're 9 runs from victory with five wickets in hand.

Then it's four runs and four wickets...
four runs and three wickets...
three runs and two wickets...
two runs and one wicket - just one run for the tie...

And Gill snaffles a catch off Piercy's bowling and Beard XI have incredibly won by one run!

That was ace. Against last year's league winners, as well.

Haha. Watched a bit, but gave up on you when they were 92-5. Crazy.

Asterix XI v Borderliners

Asterix XI won the toss and elected to field.
Pitch: Green

End of Over 13: 55-4, runrate=4.23
Lancaster 7-0-35-1
Elliott* 32 (31 balls)
Pearce 0 (0 balls)
Last Wicket: Hedley Run Out 1 (FOW: 55/4)

In our last five OD meetings I've sent them in (winning the toss every time), bowled them out for 130-180ish, and chased the total for the loss of 2-5 wickets. Hopefully heading that way again, just need to get rid of Elliot and the next batsman in.

And that's the end of the match. Swamibapa Leeds CC won by 1 wickets.
The super sixers 224-10
Swamibapa Leeds CC 225-9

End of Over 50: 225-9, runrate=4.50
Granville 9-0-40-3
Cherry* 24 (18 balls)
0 (2 balls)

49.1 1 Granville to Cherry
Outstanding save from James! Cherry creamed that to the covers and James dived full length to his left to cut off a boundary.

Cherry You Gun!!!

5 wickets and a last ditch slog to win the game

It happens I suppose. Sucks though, I've pulled off a few surprises in my time but I've never been beaten like this before. S'pose I'd better strap a pair on and bounce back from it!

Won quite easily today, sold my wonderful-quality bat on Thurs eve so missed out on getting a really gun BatStat rating as I forgot to set my orders and a worthless-feeble opening the batting.

Still, not too bad:
Code:
		Boggles Sapphires
Top Order: quality sensational
Middle Order: remarkable proficient
Lower Order: abysmal woeful
Seam Bowling: miraculous wonderful
Spin Bowling: masterful strong
Fielding: mediocre feeble
Will almost certainly re-promote into the Ranji next season if the opposition there were anything to go by.
