Nibbs did it, so i may aswell too.

The team will be hoping for a top 3 spot in the league, training will stay the same, unless i get an insane youth pull, then i will have to rethink. Bowling will start to look nice end of next season. Aiming to promote end of season 9, putting me in III season 10. I think its doable.

I was just looking through my BT squad, and I was wondering, how many original squad members or YPs from your own club, do people still have in their first team?

I'm guessing when you reach Adam's stature, having a YP of your own play for you is a pretty impossible task?
1 original
3 YPs

Pretty disappointing season all-round really, got thumped about in the Ranji and my training program hasn't really brought fruition yet. Got a couple of million in the bank to buy an all-rounder when I sell a couple of the current team. Will have four remarkable+ batsmen by the end of the season hopefully and all five of my bowlers will be quality+ but still not really where I wanted to be.

Doesn't help that I didn't look at BT at all for 8 weeks except to set my orders to default each time but no excuses!

1 of my original players, 3 YPs.

Mahindinho

State Vice-Captain
Two originals, six YPs for me. The core of my 1st XI, really.

It helps that most of those YPs came in seasons 1 and 2 -- I wouldn't even consider keeping them these days, never mind training them!

Brackenhurst - 293/7 off 50 overs
Steyn 130 (121)
Singh 121 (136)
Poulter 6/31 (10)

beat

Four Pillars and Poor Fillers - 238/10 off 47 overs
Maynard 124 (132)
Xingwana 72 (54)
Lake 4/28 (10)
Ballard 2/18 (9)
Abbey 2/45 (10)

As has been said, worthless match. Singh is normally my number 8/9 and Abbey is a batsman. Good times.

My big 20/20 clash tonight, will be staying up to watch it. Should lose comfortably, but I need to win it, and hence, anything can happen. :D

Staying up for my big match. If I win it, I make Top 2, lose it and the dream is over. It's a party atmosphere with a fridge full of Coke, Doritos, lollies and the rest of it, with pumped up music. So sad, but I'm loving it. :D

End of Over 20: 161-10, runrate=8.05
Evans 3-0-35-1
Abbey* 88 (47 balls)

No prizes for guessing who the star was. Scored over half my runs.

C`mon Brackenhurst!

Nate

You'll Never Walk Alone
Really worried. New-ball proving testing for the openers, but still without a breakthrough. Smart, who popped to Prof/Res today, just bowled a maiden. So nervous. :D

...and now gets smacked around. Need wickets. Who will stand up?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

EDIT:
End of Over 10: 73-0, runrate=7.30, reqrunrate=8.90 (161-10)
Holmes 2-0-8-0
Ranchod* 23 (31 balls)
Barstow 45 (31 balls)

Advantage with them at the half-way point. But if I can just get a good over or two in there...

8 off the over. Need something special from Singh. They need 12 from 12.
11 from 11.
11 from 10.
10 from 9.
9 from 8. Crazy stuff.
9 from 7. Tension is awesome!

5 off 2!!
3 off 1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Smart!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Smart 0/23
Singh 0/31
Hindle 0/31
Holmes 0/33

Abbey fielded like a gun, and obviously played the match-winning innings. Both our ratings were lower than usual, but I'm so proud of our team. Pride myself on having no weak-links and we stuck together.

Both teams are now 5 and 1. I play the team coming 6th, he plays unbeaten 1st. So surely, second place is Brackenhurst's.

EDIT: Ratings - (Brackenhurst first)

Top Order: Competent - Mediocre
Middle Order: Mediocre - Feeble
Seam Bowling: Competent - Mediocre
Spin Bowling: Mediocre - Remarkable

Abbey, for that innings against that spin attack, you shall never leave Hurst.

Nice win.

I TIEd my way through the game against the div 3 side today, and consequently took a big NRR hit and dropped to 3rd. So basically I have to win next week and gain 3.4 runs on the team in second in NRR to finish 2nd. I'm playing the weakest team in the league and he's playing mid-table, so it's possible but tough.

I think I'll go on GFI, even though the team I'm playing is hopeless, just in the hope that I'll bowl them out for 20 or something.
