A couple of handy pops. Anyone have any idea why Martyn's BT rating is dropping like 1000 every week? He's gone from being my highest rated player to third, while he's still on a bowling net every week.

David Atkinson - 17 yo, BT Rating=10,160
LH Batsman, LM Bowler, competent batting form, strong bowling form, changeable
A steady player with strong leadership skills and worthless experience.

Seamus Martyn - 21 yo, BT Rating=23,108

It'd be because of his form- woeful batting and competent bowling form. I've no real idea how to fix it though; I was under the impression that getting training would help keep a player's form up, but now I'm not so sure.

As for my game, Burger just brought up his second century in two days.

End of Over 17: 185-1, runrate=10.88
Orsborne 3-0-21-1
Griffin* 72 (39 balls)
Burger 100 (54 balls)
Last Wicket: Kilkenny c. Black b. Orsborne 8 (FOW: 16/1)

My 20/20 league has one div 3 team, one div 4 team and everyone else from 5. Probably won't be able to get into second, but should have a decent chance at third.

Does it actually mean anything then, the rating? He still seems to be bowling pretty well, and obviously he's getting pops.

They changed the engine so form does have some sort of effect in terms of performances, so while he may still be getting good figures on competent bowling form, I guess they're not as good as he would be getting on superb. I'm not sure just how much effect it has though, you'd need someone like Scaly or Adam to clarify it, but I know that Canning dropped in form mid-season and he didn't suddenly start bowling pies.

And ffs, Griffin gets out for 86 with two balls to go, bringing in Canning. And then Canning hits the last two balls for a 6 and a 4.

End of Over 20: 217-2, runrate=10.85
Woods 4-0-46-1
Burger* 108 (60 balls)
Canning 10 (2 balls)
Last Wicket: Griffin c. Christie b. Woods 86 (FOW: 207/2)

Won it here, though not without a scare

Magical Ponies 2/217
Burger 108* (60), Griffin 86 (49), Canning 10* (2)

Midgets 140 (18.0)
Tedstone 3/34 (4), Erasmus 3/41 (4), Potgieter 2/13 (4)

One of their opening bats made 80 off 34 and had me a bit worried, but once he got out they had nothing left.

Funny thing was that my crappy medicore and competent bowlers took all the wickets and Sishayi (quality) and Matharu (strong) went wicketless.

Got one reasonable div II team and six div IV teams in my league, so I can TIE all the group games. Doubt I'll spend my money in time to improve my chances of winning, but I'm reasonably confident that my current four man batting lineup will suffice for twenty overs against decent teams. Trying to make my good players do as little as possible in the group stages, but I only have 15 players in my squad.

Easy ten-wicket win over a side with a wonderful top order (two BTR 100,000+ batsmen) and not a lot else at all. I'd forgotten to change my team orders as well. No pops.

Listed Osman (17yo strong bat) for 3.6m, he'll pop to superb in two weeks with two batting nets. If he fails to sell he'll be relisted in two weeks anyway.

Swap you for my 17yr old strong bowler that will pop in 2 weeks?

If he were a spinner I might. Destructive medium pace is a bad combination for a young bowler though (already gone through that with Harewood).
