Son Of Coco

Cricket Web: All-Time Legend
After playing the top team in the three day matches and winning by an innings and 200-odd I was up against the top one day team in my division today, a team ahead by 8 points. Was going to rest a lot of players and basically give up the ghost as they have a number of players with 20-40,000 ratings...and I don't. Happened to notice a lot of their top players were at 'drained' though so had a crack. The final result:

We struggled to 170-odd

and then rolled them for 70-ish.

Only 4 points back now, and they could find it tough with so many decent players struggling for fitness.

Playing 3 spinners just out of the academy in the friendly this Sunday though along with a bunch of second stringers...have the team I just beat in the three day game again this week at home.

It's all happening!

Ended up losing my match in the last over. Really needed a win and disappointed not to get it. Really should have played a frontline bowler but I had to rest them to get their stamina up.

I didn't notice this pop the other day. Pretty handy as I was going to keep him on a fielding net until he popped in conc. Now I can change that net to a keeping net for Murali and express track his secondaries.

Also a handy pop with the balance of my side. Cus I don't have any real star batsmen and most my batting relies on depth. The extra batting option might come in handy, as he should hopefully hang around a bit longer with specialist batsmen now.

Code:
End of Over 20: 126-1, runrate=6.30, reqrunrate=3.73 (237-10)
Imithiyaz 5-0-29-1
Ellis* 14 (19 balls)
Lucas 69 (62 balls)

Last Wicket: Quintin c. Wijesinghe b. Imithiyaz 37 (FOW: 91/1)
They got their two best bowlers on now, but both don't have great PFLs. If these two can see off these spells we should win comfortably. Even if we don't I have Clayton and Murali at 6 & 7 so they should see us home if we get into trouble.

Won the toss, batted, and lost Grant first ball

0.1 W Riley to Grant
Big inswinger and a massive inside edge. But he's given him!! Grant can't believe it, what a bad call from the umpire.

:@

Caldwell and Kepler at the crease now - need them to score big. We're batting on a H+F on a sunny day, and their batting is probably better than their bowling.

Won in the 44th over. Lucas got a 100 and Ellis got a 50. Got my first superb spin rating, started the season with a proficient spin attack. Got 240k in gate receipts. Everyone still has Sublime PFLs

EDIT: Also Muralitharan took his 100th wicket for Jets today. Big day for talented all rounder. 4th player to reach this mark after Priyantha, Dowdall and the one and only Jeithoon. Also becomes the first player to reach the 1000 runs and 100 wickets club.

Yeah, one of mine made 223* once, in a team total of 407-1. On a TIE and not against a bot, to boot.

Currently dealing easily with one of my league's longer-standing but rather inept (verging on inexplicably rubbish) teams. Also, my main opponents for top spot are playing each other today, and that result looks to be going my way as it'll leave me 8 points clear of both of them. So I should only have to beat one of them to top the league, and the fact that one of them is running his top players into the ground should help with that. :)

Grant made 210* for me in a score of 396/2 once, and that was on TIE against a managed side. He got a golden duck today though...

Still, since then, it's been all good and we look set for 350+

End of Over 40: 268-2, runrate=6.70

With my other bowlers having failed to take a wicket for 25 mind-numbing overs, Oleary comes back, looks around, sighs, and cleans up with his best-ever OD figures:

End of Over 48: 137-10, runrate=2.85
Oleary 9-6-3-6
Crompton* 50 (102 balls)

That'll do, pig. That'll do.

The players are off the field for the break between innings.

End of Over 50: 359-3, runrate=7.18
Hockenhull 10-0-89-0
Gardiner* 49 (35 balls)
Gibson 21 (15 balls)

Last Wicket: Kepler c. Aftab b. Riley 173 (FOW: 306/3)

Nice work, we'll need every one of those runs though I reckon, given the fantastic batting conditions.

Woods is set to attacking - hopefully he'll have enough with the added GFI boost to cause some havoc in their batting.

Just checked tozzers game:

End of Over 18: 81-3, runrate=4.50, reqrunrate=2.22 (151-10)
Shafilshuna 4-0-13-1
Gayle* 36 (51 balls)
Sturdy 15 (16 balls)
Last Wicket: Drury c. King b. Shafilshuna 6 (FOW: 51/3)

Was looking gone, then this happened

19.2 W Shafilshuna to Westrop
Edged! And taken by a tumbling King!
18.6 W Vincent to Warne
Caught and bowled! Vincent has that smug, self-satisfied smile as he looks back at Warne. 'Yes sir, that IS the ball in my hand, and yes, the pavilion IS over there.'
18.4 W Vincent to Gallop
Vincent traps Gallop plumb with aplomb.
18.3 W Vincent to Gayle
A lazy shot by Gayle. No foot movement to a ball that could easily have been left alone and an edge through to the keeper is the result.

Tozzer to win the title this season.

In some trouble here - in danger of my OD winning streak of 4 games in a row coming to an end.

End of Over 19: 121-0, runrate=6.37, reqrunrate=7.71 (359-3)
Hardy 5-0-35-0
Bolder* 67 (60 balls)
Salisbury 46 (55 balls)

Woods went for 34 off his first 5 overs, and I don't expect he'll do much better than that in the death overs. Turner is the only one to bowl with anything closely resembling control so far - his first 5 overs went for 17. He'll be back to finish off soon, along with Talbot's first 5 overs. Important passage of play now, we need wickets to slow them down.

And that's the end of the match. Fishs XI won by 211 runs.
Fishs XI 298-3
demented 87-10

best two players

Mathers- 7.1-0-22-5
Frazer 110

NB: Demented are a human operated team, and there team has been in good form, prior ro the match so i am confused as how i won, (espesilly as i rested my best bowler and my all-rounder who is my 3rd best batsmen and best bowler!
