Still anyone's game at the end of Day One at Cymru Gurgitaters CG. Turnip Town 235 A/O, Mawer 91, Person 83, Bewers 4/53, Carlton 3/37.
Cymru Gurgitaters 93/4, Greening 27, Noon 24*, Akhtar 19*, Staveley 18.

Would be even more concerned, accept for the fact that I still have Strong/Prof Jeffery, and Resp/Sup cash to come, so I should get up to around their score. My declaration target is set to 500, so perhaps the best possible outcome would be to get bowled out for around 280/300, try and roll them for something similar again, then have a dart at 180/200 on the final day.

Either way, I'm going to miss a fascinating day's cricket when I'm out of the office tomorrow, I love FC - With the caveat that you do need to have reasonably evenly matched sides to make it at all interesting!

Most of you guys seem to have pretty competitive divisions. I'm playing half a 2nd XI and we're still walking over them...

I'm getting owned in mine, probably has something to do with me being in Division II for OD.

Auto-relegation in both forms won't hurt anything except my Morale, haha.

Pretty thorough demolition. Surprisingly their elite bowler didn't take a wicket, he is on moderate fitness though.

Verhoeven & Groves the only 2 bowlers to take a wicket.

The batsmen have collided mid-pitch! Plenty of time for the bowler to whip off the bails as a disappointed Tyler departs.

Another innings win, with two players rested this time.

Any suggestions as to what a good fitness level to rest a player is, btw? Like, at what point will they start playing well below their usual level? Fitness has never been an issue for any of my players until this season, so I've got no idea.

I generally wouldn't be confident of a player performing well if his fitness is below lively. As I mentioned above I played against an elite bowler on moderate fitness who didn't manage a single wicket. It depends largely on the opposition's PFLs as well though, if it becomes commonplace in future for many players to be less than sublime then lower levels might still be useful.
