Geez that's a harsh team to start off with. Ideally, you'd want to aim for a team with primary skills (that is, bowling, batting, keeping) of at least mediocre, but preferably competent. You can buy players like this, this and this for very little (you definitely wouldn't want to spend much more than 10,000 on players like that). You'd also want to look at your net set up; ideally, you should look to pick up a few young (17 or 18) trainees and put them on two or three nets each. Give me a sec, and I'll draw up your best current XI (or at least what I think it would be).

The best XI, IMO, would be something like:

Schofield
Skipper
Longthorn (keeper)
Tyler (captain)
Samuel
Hildred
Wight (B5)
Deacon (B1)
Hoult (B3)
Mulhern (B2)
Francis/Hankey (B4)

Although Hankey has the better bowling primary, Francis' secondaries (stamina and consistency, in this case) are better, which means he'd be more likely to be less expensive. Obviously, the batting order could change, and certain batsmen could replace others, and I'm sure other people here will come up with a different team. Although I didn't pick Kirk (Hildred's fielding got him in), I'd put him on some nets (at least two batting nets) and train him up as he's young. Pretty much anyone below mediocre should be fired.

andyc Cricket Web: All-Time Legend Join Date: Dec 2004 Location: Canberra Posts: 23,218	The best XI, IMO, would be something like: Schofield Skipper Longthorn (keeper) Tyler (captain) Samuel Hildred Wight (B5) Deacon (B1) Hoult (B3) Mulhern (B2) Francis/Hankey (B4) Although Hankey has the better bowling primary, Francis' secondaries (stamina and consistency, in this case) are better, which means he'd be more likely to be less expensive. Obviously, the batting order could change, and certain batsmen could replace others, and I'm sure other people here will come up with a different team. Although I didn't pick Kirk (Hildred's fielding got him in), I'd put him on some nets (at least two batting nets) and train him up as he's young. Pretty much anyone below mediocre should be fired.
