Dynamogroinstrain are a similar problem with 48 players but unlike Labrooy who also annoys me they buy fairly crap players. Unusually they dont have any players on the market atm

There's a couple on the market at the moment, one in particular I'd like you to bid on:

2. Jon Dawson £3,121,202 (Leeds United)
Plays for: DTCC Stamina: woeful W/Keeping: woeful
Age: 19 years old Batting: quality Concentration: feeble
BT Rating: 33,637 Bowling: remarkable Consistency: feeble
Deadline: 15/11/2006 12:56 Fielding: worthless

I'd probably bid on him myself if I had the money because he's almost exactly what I'm looking for and quite cheap. Guess it's because he's not that great in terms of secondaries but he is only 19 currently.

Secondaries would just make them perform like my other players really, after their PFL gradually recovers to something reasonable - sometime next season. Plus they need stamina training. I want someone a bit beyond my average bat/bowl and doesn't need a season of training/waiting around.

BARNES OUT
Just looking for some casual advice, it doesn't really matter this week, as I'll lose either way, but the next home game I have a shot of winning if I can pull a PY-style upset out.

This is my bowling attack, what type of pitch do you reckon I should go with, without looking at the opposition bowlers.

Code:
 7. Nick Hodge - 22 yo, BT Rating=15,829

An attacking player with respectable leadership skills and abysmal experience.

Batting: feeble Concentration: abysmal
Bowling: proficient Consistency: woeful

I was thinking dusty would probably be best, considering all the spinners are being trained as well, but Hodge and Pryde are wicket takers and I'm kinda hesitant to change from Green. Anyway, any advice would be appreciated.

Mahindinho

State Vice-Captain
With dusty, you're putting your best bowler at a disadvantage.

With green, you're giving three of your bowlers problems.

I'd say that, with both your seamers att/dest, you should give them a nice green pitch. Your best spinner is defensive, so he'd do fine set to v.def...but Seneviratne and Viduka aren't going to do so well. Probably better than Pryde would do on a dustbowl, though.

As there's not much in it, I'd consider swapping between the two (if possible) depending on the opponent.

Christ it's still broken. Anyway I got a bid for Nile which is nice because he's old and his concentration is too crappy to be of much use in ODs.

Wouldn't be surprised if he sells for quite a bit more. I was bidding on a 21yo strong/comp batsman today, he had proficient fielding and his wage was ~£3,500 so he was obviously close to superb. I was expecting him to go for a fair bit because of this, but wasn't expecting the £1.9m that he eventually went for.

Yea I had added this guy to my shortcuts just in case he went for around 1 mil

6. Steven Omeara (314665)
RH Batsman, RM Bowler, superb batting form, superb bowling form, sublime
A steady player with strong leadership skills and abysmal experience.

Plays For: Rovers Town
Nationality: England
Age: 20 Years Old
Battrick Rating: 14,875
Wages: £3,309 p/w

Stamina: feeble Wicket Keeping: woeful
Batting: strong Concentration: proficient
Bowling: abysmal Consistency: mediocre
Fielding: feeble

went for 1.53m, which is why I gave up trying to get someone like him and am just going for a gun all-rounder.

Jon Dawson (454033)
LH Batsman, LFM Bowler, superb batting form, superb bowling form, drained
A steady player with strong leadership skills and abysmal experience.

Plays For: DTCC
Nationality: England
Age: 19 Years Old
Battrick Rating: 33,637
Wages: £10,086 p/w

Stamina: woeful Wicket Keeping: woeful
Batting: quality Concentration: feeble
Bowling: remarkable Consistency: feeble
Fielding: worthless

went for 3.44m by the way in case anyone is interested.

I'm not too bothered if I have to wait a while for a gun all-rounder. I'll still rake in the money just as much in my current division as if I get promoted.

Was it to Leeds United? :p

Oh and how much are you saving for your all-rounder? I've no idea what figure I should be aiming for really!

Hmm, was bored so I checked out Mcmillan stats opening this season (league):

63* (77) [attacking, flat pitch, med seam med spin]
32 (51) [attacking, dusty pitch, comp seam comp spin]
65 (85) [attacking, dusty pitch, resp seam med spin]
55 (41) [very attacking, dusty pitch, feeb seam resp spin]
155 (115) [attacking, hard and fast pitch, comp seam feeb spin]
165* (143) [attacking, dusty pitch, resp seam resp spin]

6 innings, 2 n.o's, 535 runs @ 133.7, SR 104.5, 3x50, 2x100, HS 165*

Solid IMHO. Past 4 games, including friendlies, have yielded 4 centuries. About time...

some nice stuff there from macmillan...

Jason Duggan's past 7 innings

104* (82) vs. medvedy - NZ Cup - (normal, h&f pitch, feeble seam, feeble spin)
122* (128) vs. Napier Canaries - II.4 NZ - (normal, slow pitch, strong seam, superb spin)
138 (119) vs. Rapid Wind - NZ Cup - (normal, flat, strong seam, strong spin)
127* (106) vs. Avonhead Apples - II.4 NZ - (normal, cracked, med seam, proficient spin)
120 (127) vs. Hammertime* - NZ Cup - (normal, h&f, wonderful seam, superb spin)
102* (98) vs. Shuang Qiu - II.4 NZ - (normal, h&f, comp seam, useless spin)
117 (104) vs. North Kilttown - II.4 NZ - (normal, flat, comp seam, comp, spin)

830 runs off 764 balls at an average of 276.67, coming against some quality opposition. In the blink of an eye he has moved within 18 runs of the 4000 career run mark. Seamus Hamshaw's position as the clubs all time leading run scorer is seriously underthreat...

*Hammertime won the NZ Cup in seasons 3 and 4 btw...

Not sure why Bromby's consistency popped, he's on bat/wk/field nets. I thought secondaries didn't pop at all unless you had the corresponding primary net...

Sweet, finally got our first NT win against England (chased 294 in 49.1 overs). Pity we got routed in the return leg (lost by 6 wickets in 32.2 overs).

Both secondaries will pop as a result of WK or fielding nets alone.
