Going OK against Borderliners for a change, opened with two proficients (0 and 4) and put my good batsmen down the order. First 50 for Richardson, lost Watkins for nine though.

End of Over 26: 122-4, runrate=4.69
Tandy 3-0-11-1
Richardson* 52 (70 balls)
Ashton 12 (16 balls)

Last Wicket: Cuss c. Elliott b. Tandy 45 (FOW: 102/4)

Should win with 200+, but stranger things have happened.

Oh, er, nice win Nath.

How`d you go?
I WON! My defensive settings managed to see off their two top bowlers without losing too many wickets, then in came Sandwith and Reed to milk the lesser bowlers. Sandwith went earlier than hoped, but Hayward managed to stick in there for just long enough, finally departing with 10 runs required.

Oh, and thanks for the support ;)

Nice win for you (although saying that does seem rather trite now!) -- I'm gunning for 6th too, but whether I make it is another matter entirely.

I tend to read people's summaries on a Friday with interest, but seldom reply. I'm sure others are the same.

Hmm Mahindinho beating teams left in the late stages of the cup and losing to everyone else...
Ah. That'd explain it! Well, I'm certainly not complaining if it gives me a chance of staying up -- only four precious points behind 6th...just ignore the NRR, though.

I had to set my team in a bit of a hurry last night. It was the only chance I had, and it was 1am by the time I got in front of the computer -- I was too busy falling asleep to check my opponent's cup fixtures.

My excuse is that I was sitting in a casualty ward with a mate -- we'd been playing cricket, as ringers for a mate's opposition, and he'd taken a ball to the chin while behind the stumps in the second over of the match. Just a cut, fortunately, that needed a few stitches. Low priority, so we were there for a couple of hours.

Good little win for me...:D

I PANed, don't know what the other guy did. But i ended up beating him...:D:D.

All in all, a good day for the BT'ers of India, what with Sriram and me both coming from behind, and winning.

Yea, funny how sometimes the NHS can make you wish you'd been hurt just a bit more badly so you don't have to wait around. I'll be seeing rather a lot of James Cook Hospital myself next week, doing some testing to see what I'm allergic too... I'm guessing one thing will be that moulting rabbit that runs, sleeps and shags inanimate stuffed toys downstairs.

Had a convincing win today, to make up some of the NRR difference on league leaders, Who's Your Daddy. I won the toss against Chloe Crusaders, bowling them out for 124 in 38 overs on a Slow pitch. Strong/Strong LHS Jeffery 4/28 on debut, Sup/Resp RM Wilde 2/19, Sup/Resp LFM Carlton 1/19, Strong/Prof LHS Cash 1/32, but bizarrely Rem/Sup LM Bewers was unable to add to his 31 wickets, with 0/22.

Chased them down without losing a wicket in 19 overs, Sup/Wond Noon 76* (73), Exc/Strong Greening 41* (38)

Meanwhile Who's Your Daddy had a narrow win over Wrong'uns, 200 A/O plays 161 A/O.

That all leaves Who's Your Daddy top with 32 points and NRR of 14.05, and me in second on 12.95. But TBH, he's playing Everton_Aggro, the worst team in our league next week, while I have what should be a safe, but not a massive win over Hoveshire Hawks.

Looking at our run-ins, I can't really see where I'm going to make up the NRR deficit, so I need him to lose again - With only 1.5 more matches which I reckon he could possibly slip up in, I'm not too hopeful of winning the league at the moment.

My game is becoming a farce, really. Ended up on 366-4, Hislop unbeaten again on 125, and then when we started bowling, Patterson took a wicket in the first over and then Carruthers came on and took 4 in his first over. He's currently taken 6 wickets for three runs, and the other team are 15/8. Crazy stuff.

Edit: All out for 19, Carruthers finishes with 7-5, and we won by 347 runs. Totally insane, but I'll take it. :D

and he gets a hattrick to finish the game next over.

Nice easy win on a tie, bowled them out for 78 - Norris 10-6-10-4. Now 3 wins clear at the top of the table.

Indeed, I'm resigned to the fact that bowling him at the death is the only way he's going to get wickets so I might as well accept it.

Asterix XI 273/8
Richardson 98 (123), Ashton 88* (78), Cuss 45 (42)

Borderliners 241/10 (47.5)
Whitehorne 8-42 (8.5), Downer 1-29 (10)

Nice ratings as it was a GFI:

Top Order: remarkable strong
Middle Order: superb masterful
Lower Order: feeble woeful
Seam Bowling: exquisite miraculous
Spin Bowling: strong exceptional
Fielding: competent mediocre
Takes me to no. 1 on NRR, three teams tied on points.
