1. Andrew Whittingham £5,000,000 (Aquantra CC)
Plays for: The Borfus CC Stamina: mediocre W/Keeping: feeble
Age: 23 years old Batting: abysmal Concentration: mediocre
BT Rating: 28,974 Bowling: remarkable Consistency: strong
Deadline: 01/03/2007 15:27 Fielding: competent

This guy worth it? He's got wages of £7,391 p/w, atm. I wonder if anyone'll be willing to put in early bids for my players if I list them.
No he's nowt.

You could get a guy who's younger and sensational/exquisite for a couple million more. There's no value in buying remarkables really.

True that, I guess the really gun players go for cheap after they get out of the price range most people can afford.

Maybe I could just buy 3-4 trainees and sell them off a season later for a profit.

Mahindinho

State Vice-Captain
Someone gun like nibbs or Mahinidididididno play me in a friendly.
Thanks for the compliment, but I ain't no Welshie!

Been playing in a little mini-tourney with a few mates, anyway. I've got Carpebiem and The Great Unwashed this Sunday - having had a down-to-the-wire battle for IV.26 supremacy, I've now found myself in II while he's still languishing in IV.

Thanks guys i but i've already got plenty of mediocre players. I've noticed that you can get older respectable for pretty much nothing. Might wait till Saturday's update before i buy any more players anyway.
D'oh.

Thought I'd listed my competent bat, but forgot that I'd actually tested the water with Mosheua.

Bobisback

International Regular
Well this isnt what i had planned when i decided to GFI.

bobisback won the toss and elected to bat.
Pitch: Hard and Fast

End of Over 30: 137-3, runrate=4.57
Jacobs 3-0-15-0
Gravey* 53 (62 balls)
Allison 3 (15 balls)
Last Wicket: Maughan Run Out 40 (FOW: 128/3)

Hiller went for like 8, and Hocking for like 24 off 15, top of the table clash, looks like im going to come out second best. So stupid, my team is so much better then his :(

EDIT: Hmm, probably shouldnt have played a comp pacer in place of my 2nd spinner. Oh well.

BARNES OUT
Code:
End of Over 37: 205-4, runrate=5.54
Naidoo	7-0-42-2
Heads*	1 (4 balls)
Munroe	67 (63 balls)
This side is the 3rd best side in the league, I GFI'd because I felt like it really, as even if I GFI'd the best side he'd still smash me so it doesn't matter. Munroe carrying the cause, hopefully he can push through for a big one, Heads is good attacking support but can't last too long.

I can't believe I ate the whole thing
These two gunning it yet again.

End of Over 41: 281-1, runrate=6.85
Dewar 6-0-22-1
Siyabonga* 127 (113 balls)
Reimann 133 (127 balls)
Last Wicket: Ghandi b. Dewar 12 (FOW: 19/1)

Dewar is the best bowler in the league too, statistically.

Bobisback

I predicted 90 off the last 10, and i got 89, so im happy

End of Over 50: 298-5, runrate=5.96
Jacobs 10-0-80-1
Naylor* 18 (12 balls)
Baker 9 (9 balls)
Last Wicket: Gravey b. Rowley 122 (FOW: 279/5)

Gravey with a spring back into form, Allison bashed a 66. They need 299 off their 50, and its H&F. But i have the two best averaged bowlers in the league this season, and they play on H&F half the time, so hopefully they can do something. Should be close.

NZTailender

I can't believe I ate the whole thing
I can see why Dewar is the leading wicket taker. He took 3 wickets in the last 4ish overs. So annoying.

End of Over 50: 353-4, runrate=7.06
Flood 10-0-79-0
Weerappuli* 4 (4 balls)
Fordham 9 (6 balls)
Last Wicket: Reimann b. Dewar 155 (FOW: 341/4)

Reimann's highest score yet :)

1.2 W Naylor to Garry
Garry is beaten by the swing and gifts a thin edge to Baker.

You know in mighty ducks, when Goldberg scores the goal, and they're all like, omg, wtf, he is a goalie, he cant score. Well thats what this felt like, Naylor striking early, thats insane

EDIT: Wikus on, and went exactly how i wanted it

10.4 6 Wikus to Hardy
The ball is flying high... Oh dear! Right through the windscreen of the Ferrari in the car park, the owner will not be pleased.
And that's his fifty! Well played.
10.3 4 Wikus to Hardy
Highly unorthodox and highly effective. Hardy just carved that through square cover with no foot movement at all.
10.2 2 Wikus to Hardy
Hardy didn't connect fully with the sweep but fine leg is very square and they'll scuttle back for two.
10.1 1 Wikus to Welch
Opened the face of the bat, guided to third man as the fielder runs in from the boundary.

ffs

EDIT2:
14.3 W Wikus to Welch
Baker takes a simple catch as Welch top edges the ball attempting the sweep shot.

I love you Wikus

EDIT3:
14.4 W Wikus to Sutton
Attempted flick off his legs, but makes no contact and it cannons into leg stump!
Put me in the lead, hopefully they collapse around their gun bat.

Meyer makes his maiden ton, and so nearly reached the famed 400

Clapo's XI (GFI) 3-394 (50)
Meyer 115(90), Stroud 102(91), Ludlow 96*(67)
Blair 1/71(10), Blake 0/72(10), Faulconbridge 1/80(10)

chasman 10-22 (10)
Barnett 6(6), Faulconbridge 6(6), Whitfield 4(12)
Verhoeven 6/10(4.4), Groves 4-11(4)

Can't complain with a 372 run win  nor with the efforts of all involved. Verhoeven is really starting to gun it with the new ball which is great, he'll take some pressure of Meyer.

Happy with the ratings, and the MOTM could've gone to anyone of 5 players.

Clapo's XI chashman
Top Order: respectable woeful
Middle Order: competent abysmal
Lower Order: abysmal worthless
Seam Bowling: respectable woeful
Spin Bowling: useless abysmal
Fielding: woeful woeful

MOTM: Verhoeven

Clapo, your team is starting to look gun. The news from my game.

Poulter 5-0-24-0 (comp-med)
Wikus 5-0-34-2 (superb-superb)

Stupid Wikus, getting hit around, though i still love his wickets.

WHAT!? Anyone care to tell me how I lost this game?

barracoutas 91 (30.4)
Erasmus 4/3 (5), Canning 2/8 (5), Tedstone 2/27 (8.4)

Magical Ponies 85 (26.5)
Kilkenny 29 (52), Terry 21* (28), Tedstone 11 (22)

Magical Ponies barracoutas
Top Order: competent proficient
Middle Order: proficient mediocre
Lower Order: abysmal abysmal
Seam Bowling: strong respectable
Spin Bowling: proficient competent
Fielding: woeful woeful

It was at my home ground, on a dusty wicket. So ***ing annoyed. That means that team, who really aren't that good, are now one win ahead of me in 4th place. Admittedly, there's no huge difference in the ratings, but I come out ahead on both batting and bowling, and I was on PAN

Ouch. That sucks.

My match is fairly close, need to take Hardy

End of Over 30: 166-4, runrate=5.53, reqrunrate=6.65 (298-5)
Naylor 10-0-62-2
Tarrant* 24 (40 balls)
Hardy 102 (97 balls)
Last Wicket: Sutton b. Wikus 0 (FOW: 92/4)

EDIT:

30.6 W Wikus to Tarrant
Gone! Good ball on the stumps, Tarrant trying to defend to the on side, misses the line of the ball and gets hit on the pad in line with the stumps. A loud appeal and given.

That'll do :)

EDIT2:
34.3 W Wikus to Hardy
Hardy has tried to steer the ball to third man but he has only succeeded in giving Baker an easy catch. His overconfidence has resulted in a simple dismissal there!

Game over

Won fairly easily. Brayley went wicketless, which is slightly odd. Bennie took the most wickets (cheers Smith) but our ratings stay the same.

Sold out my ground. Time to upgrade, I think.
