Where should i improve

The thing with most of your trainee is most of them are proficient. When i look at a player im training the first thing i look at is whether they are going to be remarkable by the time they are 21. From what i can see only your two 18yo have that potential Mills and Gleeson. So those two and the new kid Nicolas Dhindsa for me would be your three main trainees, with the rest getting spare nets. But cus you got most of your players to a decent level i wouldn't stop them all just slow down their nets they are getting. This is what the main three should get IMO:

Dhindsa: 2 Bat, 1 Fielding
Gleeson: 2 Bowl
Mills: 1 Bowl, 1 Fitness

But for those two secondary nets i would give to them until Siyabonga is Superb, Reimann is Proficient. So these would be the overall nets until that happens.

Nicolas Dhindsa - 2 x batting nets
Neale Gleeson - 2 x bowling nets
Ed Mills - 1 x bowling
Visvadinu Livera - 1 x batting
Wahid Weerappuli - 1 x batting, 1 x bowling
Marc Reimann - 1 x batting
Matthew Siyabonga - 1 x batting

Then once Reimann and Siyabonga pop then Mills and Dhindsa get the extra nets. Or you could just stop training Reimann.

Generally you could do with better stamina and you've got too many things that could do with being trained as it is.

You could do with selling 2-3 players and getting a gun so you can train your remaining players properly.

Hi

I have no idea how to use the wage calculator, but these are 4 players i'm using for trainees - Poke cost me 3k and i'm considering binning him and focusing on the other 3.

I have Ala and Till to try and make into all rounders, but maybe Till is not good enough?

Are any of these close to popping in their primaries?

I'm mainly trying to get there Stam/Field/Conc/Cons up but obviously any primary pop along the way will be useful!

Ala and Bird I deffo want to train.....should I bother with Till and Poke? Or shall I try and buy another all rounder as a trainee?

Thanks

PS - Are battrick making any plans to reduce overseas players? I don't wanna train up Aussies/South Africans etc and find out soon that I need 9 Englishmen!

All much of a muchness really, all the wages seem to be kind of midrange, except for Ala's which is low. Don't think I'd bother with Ala personally given his worthless stamina.

Cheers for the info. Fernandes popped in fielding and Conc and one of the others popped too.

Was looking around and found your post on wages/when pop etc which is very useful, cheers

I thought i'd got my head around the wages and when they are likely to pop, but maybe I haven't.

Player 1

Wages: £1,886 p/w

Stamina: competent Wicket Keeping: worthless
Batting: feeble Concentration: abysmal
Bowling: proficient Consistency: feeble
Fielding: feeble

Player 2

Wages: £693 p/w
Stamina: respectable Wicket Keeping: mediocre
Batting: mediocre Concentration: mediocre
Bowling: mediocre Consistency: abysmal
Fielding: worthless

Are you able to work out when these 2 could pop? player 1 in bowling, player 2 in batting & bowling.

Player 2 popped in Stamina last Monday (EDIT: wage increase was the week before, so he was Resp Stam week before and have edited player to adjust)

Is your wage guide still okay to use?

Base wage is 250

Then add these for any primaries:

feeble negligible-50
mediocre 50-150
competent 150-400
respectable 400-840
proficient 840-1650
strong 1650-2950

and so on.

Secondaries are about a fifth of the above.

Thanks for any help

Player 1 is 25, Player 2 is 17

I've done the maths and player 1 is about £60 odd from popping in bowling - I hope that's 1 or 2 nets for a player of his advanced age

I have no idea how to work out player 2 as he has more than 1 primary skill of mediocre and above.

Thanks

Scaly piscine

Cricket Web: All-Time Legend
Player 2 is roughly:

250 + 50-150 + 50-150 + 50-150 + 80-150 + 10-30

= 490-880

So he's in the middle of that, but there's not enough information to say what any one particular sublevel is as there are lots of smaller factors making up the large range.

Thanks Scaly - I thought player 2 would be harder to work out.

Player 1 was easier and i'm sure he'll pop within next week or two, to strong bowling

First Class Debutant
I finally brought in a trainee for this season, after sleeping through four deadlines and missing a couple due to uni. I got him pretty cheap to, 30k, but that probably cus his low competent:

Code:
Kieran Schutte - 17 yo, BT Rating=3,895
RH Batsman, LM Bowler, proficient batting form, competent bowling form, lively
An attacking player with respectable leadership skills and abysmal experience.
Stamina: mediocre Wicket Keeping: worthless
Batting: woeful Concentration: worthless
Bowling: [B]competent [/B]Consistency: [B]competent [/B]
Fielding: worthless
I need some help allocated my nets to my other trainee now:

Code:
Joe Delgado - 18 yo, BT Rating=10,500
RH Batsman, RH Spin Bowler, strong batting form, proficient bowling form, sublime
A destructive player with abysmal leadership skills and abysmal experience.
Stamina: feeble Wicket Keeping: [B]respectable[/B]
Batting: [B]respectable [/B]Concentration: [B]competent[/B]
Bowling: worthless Consistency: abysmal
Fielding: competent

Alex Carter-harris - 18 yo, BT Rating=5,537
RH Batsman, RFM Bowler, feeble batting form, competent bowling form, sublime
A steady player with competent leadership skills and abysmal experience.
Stamina: mediocre Wicket Keeping: worthless
Batting: [B]respectable[/B] Concentration: [B]competent[/B]
Bowling: worthless Consistency: feeble
Fielding: worthless

Barry Merry - 18 yo, BT Rating=5,533
RH Batsman, RFM Bowler, competent batting form, superb bowling form, sublime
A defensive player with mediocre leadership skills and woeful experience.
Stamina: competent Wicket Keeping: worthless
Batting: [B]respectable[/B] Concentration: [B]mediocre [/B]
Bowling: worthless Consistency: feeble
Fielding: worthless

Josh Tailor - 18 yo, BT Rating=3,738
LH Batsman, LH Spin Bowler, mediocre batting form, feeble bowling form, sublime
A defensive player with proficient leadership skills and abysmal experience.
Stamina: feeble Wicket Keeping: worthless
Batting: [B]respectable[/B] Concentration: [B]competent[/B]
Bowling: worthless Consistency: abysmal
Fielding: worthless
Both Delgado and Cater-Harris are close to proficient, should pop in the next couple week i think. Tailor and Merry just popped to respectable. This is what i've been suggested to do:

Schutte: 2 Bowl
Delgado: 2 Bat, 1 WK
Cater-Harris: 1 Bat
Tailor: 1 Bat
Merry: 1 Bat

Plus two spare fitness nets to work on these two guys stamina:

Code:
Michael Weston - 19 yo, BT Rating=3,445
RH Batsman, RFM Bowler, woeful batting form, superb bowling form, sublime
A steady player with abysmal leadership skills and worthless experience.
Stamina: [B]woeful[/B] Wicket Keeping: worthless
Batting: worthless Concentration: worthless
Bowling: respectable Consistency: woeful
Fielding: abysmal

Edmand Herath - 22 yo, BT Rating=2,509
LH Batsman, LH Spin Bowler, strong batting form, competent bowling form, sublime
A cautious player with woeful leadership skills and abysmal experience.
Stamina: [B]woeful [/B]Wicket Keeping: worthless
Batting: worthless Concentration: woeful
Bowling: competent Consistency: feeble
Fielding: feeble
Then i guess give these two nets to my main trainees once they hit feeble.

What are your thoughts, i think im getting the hang of training, got no idea about tactics though.

I'd switch the fitness to your main trainees now, Weston and Herath aren't good enough to use fitness nets on. Personally I'd be looking to sell one of your 18yo bats, ideally one who just popped in primary or one with the lowest stamina. Then you can double primary net all four trainees, plus have the single wicket-keeper net and one fitness net to use as appropriate on your four trainees - you should be looking at improving the stamina for your wickie as early as possible.

Thanks, that was Option 2 I had in mind, but I didn't think my trainees were good enough to get two nets. How much should I list Merry and Tailor for, 200k?

Yeah, they`ve aged Saggers. They tend to be going cheapest mid-week.
