Just bought a competent batsman for 16k, reasonable price I think. He hasn't got a great BT rating, but he's still 19 so I'll start training him straight away. Now got one superb batsman, one strong, one proficient, one respectable and two competent. Bowling isn't quite as good, one strong and five competent. |

Six-wicket win last night. Lost the toss and bowled first - they managed 284/3, none of my bowlers doing particularly well. Chased it down pretty comfortably with five overs to spare, Cuss again dominant with 123* off 123, sharing a century stand with Berry (85 off 81). Cuss' average now at 212.75 after 8 matches.
Oh, and Barrett got out for the first time in his career, giving him an average of 264. ![]() Still in second place because of NRR, but will be taking on the #1 team next round. Beat them by nine wickets last time, so hoping for a repeat. Last edited by Adamc; 30-07-2005 at 03:16 AM. |

Won my friendly pretty easily the other day. Lost the toss and bowled - they scored 266/9. Gillespie in fine form again with 6-31, but not much from the other bowlers. Owen bowled a good first spell, 2-20 off 6, but got hit around later on. Doesn't really make it any easier for me in terms of selecting the bowlers for the next match, since only one is in form.
Chased down the total in 45 overs, losing only two wickets. Cuss made yet another century (135* off 128), his sixth in ten innings. Berry hit 74 and Rocastle (who I bought last week) 31*. Extends my winning streak to six.
