Wow I can actually get into this thread and post...

Anyway turns out my bargain buy was trained this week and from a comparison of BT ratings looks like he's been trained for a while, this is the BT rating of Horne when he popped to proficient bowling:

bat bowl fld/sta form
5-5 *8-3 1 5 - 6-8 6124 Ben Horne 17yo cautious player, Righty RFM, L 2

Here's my buy

Liam Parr (796037)
RH Batsman, RH Spin Bowler, superb batting form, superb bowling form, sublime
A defensive player with strong leadership skills and worthless experience.

Plays For: champs05
Nationality: New Zealand
Age: 17 Years Old
Battrick Rating: 7,058
Wages: £1,092 p/w

Stamina: feeble Wicket Keeping: worthless
Batting: worthless Concentration: abysmal
Bowling: proficient Consistency: woeful
Fielding: mediocre

Obviously his form is better but it doesn't make that much difference. Also Horne has one (bottom) proficient, 3 mediocre attributes and some negligible stats, this is better than one proficient, one mediocre, one feeble and some negligible stats.

So in summary I probably got a near strong 17yo spinner with decent other stats for 260k... still massively short on the batting front tho.

Another good result for my team inspite of yet again having worse ratings (by a fair bit) - OK, it was only a tie, but I expected (and probably if some people were to be believed deserved) a loss.

Comfortable win, my bowlers didn't do much but the batsmen got the runs easily enough:

Martinique Serpents 274-5
Louis 3-39, Malik 1-31, Monk 1-68

Asterix XI 277-2 (44.3 overs)
Wynand 140* (119), Ashton 72 (101), Cuss 43 (47)

Watkins got another two catches which takes him to 16 for the season, the most for a non-keeper in WI.

Ratings on TIE:
Code:
	Martinique Serpents Asterix XI
Top Order: proficient quality
Middle Order: feeble proficient
Lower Order: abysmal feeble
Seam Bowling: mediocre strong
Spin Bowling: useless superb
Fielding: feeble mediocre
Seam rating is suffering a bit as I'm using a competent as my fifth bowler, he took 0-82. Will have to get around to getting a proper fifth bowler sometime soon, also have to think about a ground expansion, probably to 42k capacity.

They probably played their U19 stars when you played them. He's got three players with BT-rating of 50,000+, and only played one.
