4 bot teams in my league, looks like I've been given a better squad than 2 of the other 3 human teams. About to stick some of the deadwood on the transfer market...

There is a training update every week, you can keep the players on training for as long as you like.

Shuffled the batting order a bit from last season, Also shuffled the bowling order by giving Longrigg and Binns the new ball. Interesting to see how it turns out

I'm playing a bot team (I think all the first round cup games are against bots) so it should be an easy win. I don't want to take any chances in my first game of the season though, so I'l probably play with a full-strength side. So that's:

Cuss
Bridge
Berry* (5)
Gillespie (2)
Barrett
Gillete+
Rocastle
Begg
Oddy (4)
Male (1)
Badley (3)

Still unsure as to whether I should be opening the bowling with Male, given that he is only medium pace. Badley is LF, but a bit unreliable at the moment.

Who are you expecting to do well for you this season? I can't see anyone other than Cuss and Gillespie topping my runs and wickets respectively, given how far ahead of the rest of the team they were last season. I'm tipping a big season for Badley though, my best YP from last season, Getting lots of training atm and should be an excellent bowler by the end of the season. Rocastle should do well with the bat, didn't get much time at the crease in last season's league matches but did very well in the friendlies.

I'm a bit worried about my league, all the teams are v. good, having finished #1 or #2 in their league last season. I'm hoping for a top 4 finish though.

I'm just plain interested to see how this is gonna turn out, being my first game and all...

N Simpson
G Kenna
I Donald
R Sutton
D Goodall
J Dobinson+
S Leadbeater (2)
C Cave (1)
L Ohara (5)
D Hardy* (4)
R Heard (3)

At 18, Sutton looks the goods with the bat, so I'm hoping for some good performances from him. In terms of bowling, I've no idea, but probably Heard.

Guys, what would be a decent asking price for a player like this:

Dean Branch - 19 yo, BT Rating=1,630
LH Batsman, LFM Bowler, respectable form, Healthy
A steady player with mediocre leadership skills and worthless experience.
Stamina: feeble Wicket Keeping: worthless
Batting: abysmal Concentration: woeful
Bowling: worthless Consistency: feeble
Fielding: mediocre

£0, unfortunately. You'll be lucky if you can sell him at all, though someone might want him since he's reasonably young. The minimum bid is £1,000, so you should just put him on the market and hope someone takes him. If he fails to sell I'd fire him.

My team for the Cup Game.

S Field(wk)
M Barnard
G Delaney
H Gowshall
M Aldred
K Sugden(1)
J Sansome*
A Beswerthick(4)
J Binns(5)
K Norris(2)
R Hole(3)

Gowshall and Aldred main batting threat, and Sugden is the spearhead of the bowling.

I haven't been playing any longer than you but I'd be amazed if you got owt for them, I've got someone slightly better than that on the transfer market and haven't had a bid yet. Only got £2000 for a 26 yo who was a mediocre keeper, mediocre fielder, feeble stamina, woeful consistency with everything else abysmal. Am I the only person who converts all the mediocre etc. stuff into numbers and lists my squad in a document? Like for my transfer list/fired players I'd have

Ba/Cc Bo/Cs F S W

2-6 - 4 6 5 James Holmes (wk) 26yo BT=5705 steady player Righty, L 2, exp 2 ***£2000
2-2 2-3 5 4 3 Niall Smith 26yo BT=2007 destructive player Righty, L 8, exp 4 ***fired
2-5 3-4 3 2 - Glen Loyal 19yo BT=1913 cautious player Righty LM, L 1, exp 1
2-3 5-2 3 2 - Tony Cawson 24yo BT=1352 defensive player Lefty LH spin, L 4, exp 1

I find it much easier to see the strengths, weaknesses and pick a team this way.
