Opponents 37/9. Not too shabby, but they were 6/7 and my change bowlers have come on... I need run rate!:@

Edit: And the no. 11 edges a reverse-sweep behind for 13. 40 all out. Good stuff.

Need to win this match to ensure a promotion playoff to div I (against a bot) and the 180k prizemoney that comes with it.

Asterix XI won the toss and elected to bat.
Pitch: Green

End of Over 23: 170-0, runrate=7.39
Mulligan 5-0-39-0
Cuss* 92 (65 balls)
Wynand 74 (74 balls)

Looking good. :)

well won my last game for a 11-3 record, finished second so that's £50,000 in prize money. Filled my ground out aswell but i don't think i'll expand till mid way through next season as morale gets reset right?

Top Performers of the Season:

Keiran Lawrence - 1231 runs @ 136.78, 4 hundreds, 7 fifties, SR 85.72 HS 145
Bob Webster - 881 runs @ 88.10, 3 fifties, 3 hundreds, SR 99.44 - HS 208
William Keane - 390runs@32.50, 33 wickets@17.06 ER 4.14, BB 4-23
William Macauley - 26 wickets @ 20.65
Hayden Atkins 19 wickets@ 21.00
Santosh Islam 24 wickets@24.43

On the lookout for another batsman to bad 4/5, and a bowler to bat at 8 - hopefully tomorrow will bring such a player.

The two spots under threat in the side atm are Gene Purser, 20, who is mainly in for his fielding (med bat, med conc, abys stam, resp field). I also have Andrew Rowntree, 19 - (comp bat, feeble conc, worthless stamina, abysmal fielding).

My fifth bowler is either Wilmott, 20yo, comp bowl, feebl cons, woeful stamina, competent fielder (worthless bat) or Eddie Stack, 18yo, comp bowl, woeful cons, mediocre stamina, woeful fielding, (woeful batting)

I think Stack is definately the better option being younger, with decent stamina and a better bat, shame about his fielding.

Finished 4th, not bad for a début year.

Buys of the Season:

Angelo Dilhan 205 runs @ 68.33
Justin Gray 4 wickets @ 9.25

Think I might sell my strong bowler early next season and get in a respectable or higher 17yo bowler - I'll be looking for destructive temperament and abysmal (woeful would be miraculous) experience and MF or F bowling speed to open the bowling. These are the stats of the guy I'm going to sell:

Zesh Emmanuel (269676)
LH Batsman, LM Bowler, respectable form, invigorated
(feeble batting form, strong bowling form)
A steady player with mediocre leadership skills and abysmal experience.

Plays For: Scaly Piscine CC
Nationality: England
Age: 28 Years Old
Battrick Rating: 8,014
Wages: £2,713 p/w

Stamina: feeble Wicket Keeping: worthless
Batting: abysmal Concentration: competent
Bowling: strong Consistency: abysmal
Fielding: abysmal

I'll probably put an asking price of 250k, hopefully get a bit more, they'll obviously be 29 when I sell them early next season. I think experience and temperament are undervalued, so I won't lose much on those when I sell this guy.

Best performers for me:

Geoff Kenna: 1378 runs @ 153.11, 7 hundreds, 4 fifties, SR 111.13, HS 186
Ben Andrew: 1072 runs @ 107.2, 5 hundreds, 3 fifties, SR 96.49, HS 148, 12 wickets @ 31.25, SR 48, ER 3.91, BB 2/22
Ricky Heard: 39 wickets @ 15.03, SR 20.77, ER 4.34, 2 5wi, BB 5/24

Best buys definetely Ben Andrew and Gordon Dunne- 8 matches, 14 wickets @ 15.21, SR 23.57, ER 3.87, BB 4/41
Best average of the season goes to Steven Hessenthaler, with: 217 runs @ 217.00, SR, 3 fifties, HS 80, SR 102.36

I'm not the one who constantly has to moan about everything, even if it's a game provided free for you to play.

I would defaintly sell him for more. A friend sold a strong bowler who had no secondries at all, highest was woeful for 500k. He was untrainable as well

Well there's always the odd extremely high price, although I don't really know what the going rate is for strong players. Anything much over 300k is a bonus - should be enough money to get a proficient 17 yo if I have a bit of patience - have a proper star bowler instead of one that averages less than a guy that was mediocre until the last training update and a low competent.

Won my final league match comfortably enough, virtually guaranteed promotion now. All I have to do is win my playoff against a bot team that usually gets abysmal/woeful everything. I'm quite happy that I got a playoff actually, as it will probably mean I get some money from gate receipts (no official word yet, but I expect it to be split 50/50). Although I don't expect the bot team will draw a huge crowd.

Asterix XI 334/1 (50)
Cuss 188* (138)
Wynand 102 (137)
Barrett 37* (27)

Bloody Americans 249/10 (49.1)
Male 3-49 (9.1)
Gillespie 3-55 (10)

Cuss hitting a new HS for non-friendlies (takes him past 3,000 career runs), and a ton for Wynand on debut, though his woeful stamina slowed him down markedly from about 75 onwards, will have to get it trained up. All the bowlers got wickets though we should've bowled them out for a fair bit less.
Code:
  	[B]Asterix XI Bloody Americans[/B]
Top Order: superb competent
Middle Order: respectable feeble
Lower Order: woeful abysmal
Seam Bowling: strong feeble
Spin Bowling: respectable feeble
Fielding: mediocre feeble
Sold out my ground (129k) and 180k bonus for finishing 1st so my finances will be back to a healthy state soon.

No real surprises for my best performers this season, two obvious standouts:

Sol Cuss - 1,831 runs @ 183.1, SR 105.35, HS 188* (10x100, 3x50)

Sterling Gillespie - 66 wickets @ 11.47, SR 14.36, ER 4.79, BB 8-53 (6x5w) and 530 runs @ 53.00, SR 106.21

Gillespie now has 117 wickets and 919 runs...might let him open in the playoff to get him to the allrounder's double. ;) Cuss is the highest non-bot runscorer in WI (3,005 career runs) and 6th in WI overall (including bots), and Gillespie is third in WI and equal-fourteenth in the world for most career wickets.

Some other decent performers as well:

Lewis Bridge - 585 runs @ 73.13, SR 81.25, HS 112
Reon Berry - 732 runs @ 66.55, SR 82.43, HS 119
Graeme Gillete - 555 runs @ 55.50, SR 76.03, HS 116 and 39ct, 5st
Christian Male - 29 wickets @ 25.45, SR 31.66, ER 4.82, BB 5-34

Apart from those, most of the players chipped in at the right time. Very happy with the team at the moment, all players with at least respectable primaries and most with passable secondaries and stamina. My trainees are coming along nicely and should have much more of an impact next season.

I'm free for a friendly this Sunday in case anyone wants one, my fitness is down to fatigued, so I'll barely make mediocre for bowling and competent/mediocre for the batting.
