A miracle has happened, I've had a good YP:

Shaun Cahalane (393449)
RH Batsman, RM Bowler, respectable form, fresh
(respectable batting form, respectable bowling form)
An attacking player with proficient leadership skills and abysmal experience.

Plays For: Scaly Piscine CC
Nationality: England
Age: 18 Years Old
Battrick Rating: 4,312
Wages: £688 p/w

Stamina: mediocre Wicket Keeping: abysmal
Batting: woeful Concentration: woeful
Bowling: respectable Consistency: woeful
Fielding: respectable

Slight downers are that it's late in the season and they're RM - my 3rd competent or better RM bowler (my best bowler is LM). Anyway they're straight into my side for the last game of the season - will have to rejig training tho.

Got a lump of coal for Christmas:

Lawrence Hislop (393636)
RH Batsman, RFM Bowler, respectable form, fresh
(respectable batting form, respectable bowling form)
A cautious player with strong leadership skills and abysmal experience.

Plays For: Asterix XI
Nationality: West Indies
Age: 19 Years Old
Battrick Rating: 2,129
Wages: £254 p/w

Stamina: woeful Wicket Keeping: woeful
Batting: abysmal Concentration: woeful
Bowling: abysmal Consistency: competent
Fielding: mediocre

He's on the transfer market if anyone wants a specialist fieldsman...

Third round of the Gillan-Cuss Trophy against Nick's team (WA) tonight, I'm up 2-0 at the moment but more importantly Cuss has 150(126) and 0(1) (getting out to Gillan both times), so it's really more like 1-1. Cuss has scored centuries in all of his last seven friendlies since playing WA so he'll be looking to keep that run going. ;)

Can u train and play friendly's in the off season?
Hey welcome to CW, it's a great place.

Yeah I'm not too sure about that since this is my first season, but I would like to know. I recall Adam saying that finances still run during the off season so hopefully you still can train and play friendlies, but I have no real idea

Training and friendlies happened in the off-season last season, so I'm assuming it'll be the same again. It's already been confirmed that international friendlies will still take place in the off-season so I can't see any reason why club friendlies won't as well.

Am playing the Drunk XI, Paddy's (33/3/3/3/3 whatever) today.

End of Over 17: 69-6, runrate=4.06, reqrunrate=8.64 (353-2)
Giles 2-0-3-2
Mcbean* 1 (1 balls)
Woolner 0 (2 balls)

Looks like I'm well ahead, good to see Giles in the wickets

Griffin made 135 off 122, his first decent score, Hessenthaler got 167* off 140, and Sutton 32* off 23. Kenna out for 11.

Will players go up a year in age during the off season or at the start of the new one?

I played a respectable keeper today (woeful stamina and batting though) and I really noticed the difference from when I play my normal mediocre gloveman. Parr (the new guy) took 4 catches and a stumping, which was off the opening (RM) bowler. In the last few overs he started letting through more byes, but I figure once I get his stamina up a bit that should stop. Of course, it could have just been a coincidence.

It's funny that I did it during a friendly, and just after I had sold my best batsman.
