Hard to say with Boucher because of the sheer number of regulation takes generated from Pollock and the lack of spinners, but he never spilled them with the regularity that Paine does I feel.

Why does Tasmania prefer Wade with the gloves btw? Always thought Paine was supposedly the best gloveman in Australia.

Tasmania never really preferred Wade. Paine wasn't even in the team when he was picked for Aus, but when he did go back to play Shield he took the gloves and Wade was relegated to specialist bat.

Paine has definitely not been at his best this series, not sure how to explain why though.

Paine did his bit. England did their bit. Now australia can bat 2.5 days to score 600+ which has room for an individual 300 odd.

Keeping in England is tough with the ball swinging once it has passed the bat. His keeping has been poor by his standards but not Wade level painful.

But if u believe reports it was his alone and a surprise to all. I still think it was a completely dumb decision.

So keeper wise there are no other domestic keepers doing well other than Carey?

Peter Nevill is the best keeper in Australia imo and he is also a very good batsman. Probably (rightly) considered too old now though.

That’s right. Not that Carey’s blaring “pick me” in neon either.

I would actually take Handscomb over Bancroft as a keeper. Would take a plank of wood over either of them though
