2nd Test, Lord's, London

International Captain
From Cricinfo:

"Sadly it's already raining heavily at Lord's, so we might have to make our own entertainment this morning (or possibly even the duration). The forecast is pretty grim until about mid-afternoon, so already there might be some thoughts about tinkering with selection for a four-day Test."

It looks like today's a write-off, tomorrow should be a full day, Friday a half-day, Saturday consistently dicey (so if we start on time we might get a lot of play but it's the sort of day where if it doesn't start on time they'll struggle to get many overs in) and Sunday looks promising. Gonna be hard to force a result if the pitch is as dry as it looks.

Adelaide 06 highlights on here. Hearing Bill, Tony and especially Richie makes you realise how much better the old crew was compared with the last channel nine cabal.

Reminds me of how well Hoggard bowled that tour. Was an iron man in that test especially.

The only English seamer to actually look reasonably threatening all series. Freddie was OK in Brisbane but didn't do much thereafter, Harmison set the tone for his series with his first delivery, Anderson was just insipid, and then they brought Saj Mahmood in who was the worst of the lot

So good watching Anderson getting pummeled. Have always regarded that as his actual level, barring a category four cyclone over his head. And he hasn't done much out here in three subsequent tours to suggest otherwise
