This is just substandard umpiring. Like, review it etc etc but this is just not acceptable in an international game.

That is shocking batting. Paine is woeful cricketer.
He was Tassie's third choice keeper and just about to retire when he was recalled on the basis of a single first class fifty. He has only scored one first class ton, and that was in 2007.

What a pathetic performance this is. Relying on TPC from the moment he's back in the side again.

Yes, people are going to say that it should've been reviewed, and they have a point, but that's the sort of decision that just shouldn't be even made. It's like he's judging the line for a left armer bowling over, not a right armer bowling very wide around.

TBF Paine was clearly vastly superior with the gloves than Jake Doran was, is, or ever will be.

Right like at a basic level, it's not actually a batsman's job to make a full judgement of whether he's out or not when he's hit on the pad, it's the umpires, and there have been literally been more wrong major decisions than right decisions today unless I'm forgetting a few.

We need to have a serious discussion about removing on field umpires and relying on technology for every decision

If you want a glorified hat holder a hat stand is cheaper
