here we go

The alleged incident happened in early November when the tourists were in Perth for their opening practice match of the tour. Bancroft, who made his Test debut in Brisbane this week, is from Western Australia and lives in Perth.
According to early reports, the police were not involved. It is also understood that Bancroft did neither provoke nor retaliate in the incident.

It was when England was there for the tour match evidently, and they found out about it because the Australians were sledging the **** out of him (apparently)
Interesting. It must have been before the match, because during it Bancroft was a few thousand kilometres away, and England would have been in Adelaide when he returned to Perth.

So the Aussies were doing all the barking?

But only JB had the minerals to bite?

That seems to be the tale of the tape.

From that it seems that ECB knew earlier, but everyone else only found out when the Australians started sledging.

This still seems weirdly handled. Even if you don't want the police involved, surely you let CA know what one of the opposition players has just done. He deserves a ban. It's basically the Warner situation over again.

You don’t dob in Australia, mate. You keep your trap shut then verbal the **** out of the bloke later and take him down on the biggest stage possible. Far more satisfying as a measure of justice.

How is this real?

What is it with English cricketers and their violent ape-like tendencies.

Oh this is brilliant. On the back of the Stokes fiasco, ECB knew their keeper is a violent thug and neither said nor did nothing? What a fiasco. Warner missed two tests for less. Johnny be gone.

Symonds certainly didn't feel that way

Verbal him where he can't fight back.

In England this would have been sorted out on the cobbles... not by "sledging" (essentially name calling whilst hiding behind your mothers dress).

Different cultures. One is Queensbury rules, the other is back chat.

Bairstow will now be rounded on more harshly than his late dad (RIP) was when he walked out to bat in an ODI at the SCG in 79/80 and the crowd thought it was Brearley (was just after the aluminium bat episode and Mike wasn’t flavour of the month).

I remember that match because I was there and inadvertently booed him too.

Makes sense you'd go by prison rules on ratting out.

Lyon endorsed Warner’s view about the value of hatred, noting “there’s going to be heated moments ... I’m all for it. There’s a line, we’ll headbutt the line but we won’t go over it.”
interesting...

Yeah I was wondering why Bairstow looked so pissed with Handscomb when he came out to bat.

How was this kept quiet this long?

Lol imagine Harbhajan picking a fight with symonds. Would have been hilarious.
Symonds could probably take on that entire Indian team solo. He'd just stick his elbow out as they came running in one by one like he did with that streaker.
