Ashes Trivia

I wish I could work out England from the 2005 ashes. Bell was the last guy to debut before the 05 Ashes right? So KP is 626. Colly 627? Shane Udal (628) debuted straight after the Ashes. So did then Somerset player IAN BLACKWELL (629). thanks to his recall last summer, I know Liam Plunkett debuted in 2005 too....which means I've got one too many here if Cook is 630. Maybe Udal had already been picked? I know he was an old ****. Monty debuted with Cook right? So he's 631. Sajid Mahmood was here in 06-07. 632?

hahahah missed the boat a bit.

387 wasn't a batsman. The batsman to debut before Clarke (385) was indeed debuted in the 2002/03 Ashes, but as you've noted, wasn't Lehmann.
Lovey! So few guys got debuts around that 2000 to 2004 time you'd think it'd be easy to remember the few new guys but I can't.

I'm sure no one debuted between Morgan and Patel. There was a big deal made of the fact England kept the same tea for 2 years. So I must have forgotten a couple of people at the fag end of the first Moores tenure (08-09ish). NFI who that is

On this, I knew Plunkett made an impression in the ODI series before the Ashes, but I never knew he got a test that year until his recall last year which I thought was his debut, but then I saw he debuted in 05 and I was like, "What? How?" or something

I think I'm missing a few because I'm struggling a bit after that. Remember Amjad Khan in the West Indies, Darren Pattinson 2008 v SA and not much else. Broad was 2007 in Sri Lanka.
That's it then. Amjad and Pattinson.

639. Tim Ambrose
640. James Pattinson
641. Graeme Swann
642. Amjad Khan
643. Tim Bresnan
644. Graeme Onions
645. Jonathan Trott
646. Steven Finn
647. Michael Carberry

649. Ajmal Shahzad
650. Eoin Morgan
651. Samit Patel
652. Johnny Bairstow
653. James Taylor
654. Nick Compton

Pretty sure it would've been 06, Sri Lanka at home, at the earliest.

Mahmood and Prior are spot on from this list. Sidebottom is incorrect (debuted in 2001), rest are in the general right place.

Think Cabs has the two that Howe has forgotten.

KP, Blackwell and Monty all spot on.

Colly debuted before Pietersen didn't he?
Yes.

I'm 100% certain it's 2005, because I did about 2000 double takes when I saw he debuted in that year. So he's 628 and Udal's 627 if I've got Colly wrong

Wait, I thought Swann was like Sidebottom and got an one-off appearance many years before his actual stint in the team?

Colly debuted heaps early, 2003 or something.

I've just looked up the absolute rat**** side Anderson first played in against Zimbabwe. Good luck naming all that
