*Official* 3rd ODI at Edgbaston

Bit behind but Johnson's spell was pretty damn good. England looked genuinely troubled against the pace and movement. It is a shame we haven't got to see Cummins in the series. I'd have been interested to see how well England would have handled him.

Fair play to Johnson and all, looking like a proper bowler, but it all feels a bit "meh", doesn't it? Obviously can't legislate for the weather, but there's a real "after the Lord Mayor's show" atmos, IMHO. This is the trouble with putting the limited overs stuff after the tests.

Not ideal we're looking so ropey, but Australia beating us in this series would be a bit like us getting revenge on Germany knocking us out of the world cup by beating them in Shove Ha'penny in the bar afterwards.

Which is why 5 match ODI series suck.

Five match series damaged badly by rain, and people are still saying it's too much.

Maybe ODI cricket just isn't your thing?

It's hard to give a **** about the result when players are being rested.

And when players are being rested, maybe it's a sign that you play too much cricket and can maybe do without unneccessary series?

English weather has so far ruined 2 tests out of 5 and 2 ODIs out of 3.

Why don't you play cricket over there in summer like we do in Australia?

It's a golden summer they keep saying. Things did look good for the first 2 tests weather wise. That seems a long time ago now though.

July was glorious, and overall it's been the best summer for about 7 years. When it's rained it's been at the worst times possible.
