david warner did not work his way into the test through the od team. if anything, he was only returned to the od team because he was in the test team
nah **** that 214 he made against zimbabwe a was actually a t20 match, as were all those first class matches for nsw

How have England managed to go from a (fairly successful) strategy of picking 5 proper bowlers to picking 3 and a half? Is Bresnan that important that his presence or otherwise dictates the entire strategy?

I just don't see enough wicket-taking potential in this team. I also suspect that Tredwell will be a less effective bowler as part of an attack like this because the batsmen won't see the need to go after him with so many other options.

...No because the one on the bat was where the ball passed it. Wasn't anywhere near the pad at that point. The marks on the pad came after, it is possible to edge it then hit the pad. All looked very weird anyway.
Yeah fair call..........was weird, and for such a large hotspot it was a fine nick if he did hit it. Anyway, done now.

Dar continues to troll Australia with overwhelmingly consistent umpiring this northern summer.

Gotta love Twatto's reaction.

He must have a pretty fair idea he's hit that, but wears the uncomprehending expression of an outraged Gorilla who's just arrived back from the jungle to find a Bonobo diddling Mrs Gorilla.

They need to come up with a formal written protocol for these things and publicise it so everyone knows where they stand. ie. what criteria have to be met for decisions to be overturned/confirmed.

"Wrong but not bad decisions".

FFS, Micky. Making a mockery of the language there. Can we also then have "Right but not good decisions"?!?!

nah they're right. the lbw looked out, and the nick there was no deviation. if the noise didnt carry, you can't blame them for getting either wrong on field imo

Of course we can. Daryl Harper made those sort of decisions all the time. Stopped clock syndrome.

The point effectively being made is a decision where technology has overturned in an instance where the technology has a better chance of getting it right - eg. as in this case where the evidence consists solely of a sound with no deviation. If the onfield umpire doesn't hear the noise then he can't give it out and therefore hasn't made a bad decision.
